QUESTION?????????????????

I WANTED TO KNOW ABT  THE SCARING AFTER WLS...... DO IT HEAL REAL GOOD? WHAT DO U PUT ON THE SCARS  SO THEY CAN GO AWAY?

What scarring you have depends on what procedure you are planning and how your body reacts to scarring - for example, some African- American people tend to keliod (I don't know how to spell it)  so if you do, the scarring will be worse.   I had an open RNY so I have a very obvious surgical scar from the bottom of my breast to my belly button. Personally, my bikini days are over before they began but I will have gladly paid the price of a scar  if it means I get to have the health and weight loss that i'm experiencing presently.   Laproscopic procedures - which is how most WLS procedures are done these days - leaves six (I think) smaller scars.  I've heard people note some products that make scarring better.  Haven't tried any yet.  I will keep reading this thread and see what others have to say on the topic.

Everybody is different - for me, my scars were barely noticeable - 6 cuts in all for my laproscopic RNY - and now that I have done two rounds of plastics - I can't tell which ones are left and where they are anyway! 

They are really minor - depends on how the doc closes them tho - my used liquid sutures so my skin healed together really nicely - staples or removeable sutures have more of a chance for a noticeable scar.

My thing is this...what difference does it make when you ain't going to be wearing half shirts and thangs??

I could care-less about my b-b gun wounds, would rather look at those instead of the fat!

^5 to that Ro!!!  My plastic surgeon didn't want to do the anchor cut on my tummy tuck because he said I wouldn't be able to wear a bikini..... I told him 'SHHIIIIITTTT - you don't know my hood! - that scar will give me street cred!  Hell - the mofos I **** with think that ish is SEXY!!!!'

I had mine done lap and they are fading quite nicely! My drain holes are actually darker than my incisions
