You have my prayers. We know how it is. There are lots of reasons you could see a weight gain. Before you continue freaking out consider:
1. Is it your period ?- my body metabolism is nuts right before and during my period - my weight fluctuates 6 or 7 pounds. I rarely weigh myself during that week. I wait till after my period is over a day or two and then go on.
2. Did you accidently eat a "sodium bomb" - like Chinese food for example. True story: I was on a eating plan that basically allowed anything in moderation. I had a top ramen cup of soup on like a Wednesday. On Friday, I saw my doctor. I weighed in 13 pounds! heavier than the week before and my eating hadn't changed. I flipped. But the doctor said eating those noodles at a time when I was retaining water did it - he advised me to drink more water than usual and give it a few days - sure enough by the next week I was 15 pounds down....
3. Do you weigh at the same time, same scale? I like to weigh myself first thing in the morning, after going to the restroom and wearing my b-day suit only. This, I tell myself is my most correct "natural- read lowest :" weight. However, I generally don't see my doctor first thing in the morning and not in my b-day suit. Even though I take off any jacket, shoes, watch and my glasses - clothes can weigh up to like 5 pounds and generally my weight flunctuates about 5 lbs from my "natural" weight to what I might weigh at 6pm after eating dinner.
Whatever it is, just do what you need to do and it will be okay.
Best wishes,
Rhonda

Stay strong and know that GOD will see you through this and all things that will follow. Just focus on the prize at the end of the rainbow, which is better health. Gaining weight could mean lots of different things. You could be getting into more activities and building muscle while losing fatty tissue. Don't be so hard on yourself because stress will only delay you progress.
Be Blessed,
Channell
Hi Moe,
I agree totally with Rhonda, especially about the "sodium bombs". My body has become so sodium sensitive that I can't even look at anything resembling sodium without blowing up and retaining water and pounds. My doc has given me strong diuretics to keep me flushed, and I'm still bloating every other day it seems.
Hey........................and guess what?? We have the same surgery date! I'm counting down the days to a new start! We must keep in touch and compare notes after we cross over to the other side!
Be encouraged and try not to be overly concerned about the weight gain pre-surgery. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I know it is difficult but so well worth it...You are trying your best which is the important part...Keep it up and try even harder and I am sure the results will change.
