At age 12 I played all my J5 albums so much that my brother broke all of them in half, I was devastated!I couldn't breathe and had a asthma attack. I Didnt speak to my brother for days. After he did it,and he seen my reaction he felt like sh*t.I never forgave my brother until I turned 16 yrs old and for a birthday gift he replaced all my J5 albums that he destroyed.

i was in like 4th or 5th grade when i became Michael's #1 fan...YEAH I SAID IT!!!   shoot i had his posters...the one with him in the light yellow sweater   omg!  i had ALL of his t-shirts, stickers, books, 45's albums, pleather jacket with the zippers and a red zipped up skirt to match...you couldn't tell me SHYT!  everybody was rockin' the penny loafers so that we could do the moonwalk without the friction...lmao.  i took my 5th grade picture tryna do that lil swirl thing with my hair in the front...he had a curl...i didn't.  let's just say that shyt look crazy....still got that pic tho!  shoot i think my momma was just as big of a fan as me.  she was pregnant with me when she went to a jackson 5 concert.  i know i was rockin' in the womb...lol

I had a Michael Jackson doll.  One day while I was at school my mom was babysitting some bad azz lil boy and he broke my doll in half.  I was hurt. I taped Mike up and put a rubber band around him to secure him.  My mom went and bought a Gem/Jem (I can't even recall how to spell the name.) That heifer couldn't even fit Barbie's clothes!!!  I'm still hot about that!!!

This was an incredible loss. I'm still in shock. I remember going out one night with my aunts and cousins. My aunt surprised us with tickets to the concert. We rode up to the stadium and started screaming. The seats were awesome. I was about 9 but i still remember almost fainting from the magical performance. He was awesome then and now. It sickens me to here reports of drugs and comparisons to anna nicole. I had to turn from FOX. I'm loving all the videos there playing. We have lost someone GREAT.

I remember when he got burned during that commercial.  I thought the world ended.  I immediately wrote him a letter and drew a picture to cheer him up.  My older sister PROMISED me she was going to mail it off.  About a week later I came in from playing outside and she said "Alecia guess what!  Michael Jackson called you!".  I could not believe I missed his call! I asked her what he said and complete with her MJ imitiation she said HE said "Thank you little Alecia for the letter and the picture.  I am going doing just fine and your sweet letter helped me to recover.  I wish all the children in the world can be as kind as you. "  She added some other fluff. I was ecstatic.  I told all of my friends that Michael called ME.  Fast forward to me being 12.  My sister and I got into an arguement and started admitting wrongs we did.  She finally told me that Michael did not call & she put my letter in the incenerator.  EVIL EVIL EVIL

I had leather jackets COVERED in MJ pins.  I BEGGED my mom to get me a jherri curl (she told me I better put some grease and water on my hair and hee hee my ass outta her face with that request).  I remember Sundays at the small church I attended in Brooklyn, they would let someone get up and showcase their talent.  I had on my white and yellow dress on with a lil curly swirl dangling over my eye a la MJ, and one church glove.  I pranced up to the piano cleared my throat and played the only two keys I knew.  Everyone waited to see the sweet child of God sing.  I started singing 'They told you don't you ever come around here...".  They were too done.  One of those regular "remember when..." moments in my house.

MJ is going to be missed.  I know you are in a better place pop lockin for Jesus now.

I am a few years younger than MJ but the thought of him brings back my childhood.  I remember my brother and I used to watch the Jackson Five cartoon and then make commentary about how much better they were than the Osmonds - who had a cartoon also.  Me and my 4th grade friends would go on about who was cuter - Michael or Foster Silvers (Foster had the bigger natural and the bigger the Afro the cuter the guy in our 4th grade book).  The first 45 record I owned was "Stop the Love You Save".  And  somewhere in the early 70's the Jacksons put out a Christmas album - this is before they converted to being Jehovah Witnesses - anyway all during my childhood, we would put the album on while decorating the tree - I grew up in Los Angeles, so part of that fun was flocking the tree with fake snow  to Michael's "I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"....

RIP - Michael Jackson
