Thanks for your prayers...

Good morning, BAF!

At home...following the surgery yesterday afternoon.  Felt o.k. yesterday, however today - totally different story! I am in PAIN - pain I wouldn't wish on an enemy!

The incision from my ankle surgery almost 3 months ago did not heal properly - why? Because it had an abscess AND an infection.  Now mind you, I was going to the doctor EVERY week...and not once did this doctor suspect that there was the possibility that an infection kept the incision from completely closing! Are you kidding me?! Say what?!

So, I've been walking around with a bandage on my foot...because the incision was not completely closed...and on Thursday learned I had to have surgery yesterday...now, here I am at home, the incision cleaned out...and STILL open because they couldn't close it with the infection - it has to drain (drain is inserted in foot)...THEN I HAVE TO GO BACK AND HAVE THE INCISION SUTURED!!!

A sistah is not feeling this right now...makes me wonder will I enjoy ANY summer fun...but then I am reminded - it could have been worse...it could have gone on to a cellulitis on the inside (something I DO NOT WANT...which could have been a threat to my leg).

I am grateful, yes..BUT STILL MAD AS HEYLL that the doctor didn't see this from the get-go!

I feel you - my plastics aren't totally healed either - I am having a ROUGH time of it.  Looks like i will NOT be going to see my GIRL Beyonce in concert on the 4th like i had planned.....

however - vs my HEALTH, what's a concert, anyway???

Aw girl...I know that must HURT! Trina, this pain hurts so bad it brings tears to my eyes...I know how you feel and yes, health is more important than that concert. I have so many events I was planning to attend...a Zeta event tomorrow, my grandson's kindergarten graduation, a baby shower...all tomorrow....cannot go! Then there is the 4th next week...fortunately the cookout is here at my best friend's home...just have to get myself downstairs and out into the yard.  And then the following week....my 3 year old grandson's birthday party and my girlfriend's hubby's 60th birthday (I WILL make these 2 events if I have to be wheeled in! LOL)

But I say all that to say that we take our health for granted too many times...I know my limits and I think I am at that limit...I'm going to be INDOORS for the next few days..and do whatever I can to ensure the complete healing of my ankle.

Hang in there, love...Remember the OUTCOME...

Glad you are home, sad you are in pain, happy that you healing.  This will pass soon since they have corrected the problem.  Take care of yourself and enjoy a nice quiet, restful weekend.
