chicken
Whatever you do with it make sure it is moist. Chicken was hard for me to eat when I was starting out. As far as bbq sauce goes I know that kc masterpiece has a low carb low sugar one if you don't make your own. As far as seasoning and spicy goes, I've always had both. My surgeon said I shouldn't, but I'm hard headed. I think it depends on if your stomach can take it or not.

Most newbie have trouble with meat so make sure you try it at home first to see if your pouch can handle it.

your nutrionist should have given you a list of guidelines... if his/her guidelines say you can eat chicken then i guess it would be ok... However I could not eat chicken at 4 weeks out. Seasonings were never an issue for my nut or surgeon.
I am only 7months out and still dont fool with too many sauces, they can have hidden sugars. Make sure if you use one you look at the label for the sugar content

My surgeon advises us to overseason our food (not over salt!) as much as three times normal to allow for the eventual blandness you get when chewing forever.
If you want bbq sauce stick to low carb/ sugar free varieties like Walden Farms calorie free bbq sauce (it really is no cal and its good too).
Also make sure it is extra, extra moist. You're probable best off with dark meat (boneless, skinless thighs).

V'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
everybody is different. first ask your nut then it is really trail and error. whatever you do, do it at home first. It is still trail and error for me and it changes from one week to the next. Last week my pouch craved steak. this week is not so good.
As far as the seasonng goes spice it up but get you some Mrs Dash. try and stay away from the salt...onion salt, seasoning salt, garlic salt, celery salt. They will have yo looking like a blow fish so will some of the deli meats
BBQ sauce..if you are sensitive to sugar I would take it slow...worse dump ever was from bbq sauce. after I recovered I realized what it was
good luck on your journey
