Well, I finally went to the doctors today about my ice eating and a few more things. They did an entire physical on me and everything is alright from what they could see with the naked eye. But, they took blood to check everything under the sun. So I should know what is going by Friday. I will let you know the results.

In the meantime, my goodness the best ice on earth comes from 7-11. I get one of those double gulp cups and go to town.

So the ice thing is still going down with me. At least 5 pounds a day...No lie.

We had a person like that in my support group (she would eat ice until her gums bled) and our surgeon, who sits in on our meetings, told her that she has a vitamin deficiency. I forget the exact vitamin that she was deficient in but he did say that was her problem.

Hi Treena,

I have heard of a condition called "Pica" that causes people to crave ice. Or you could be anemic. Have your iron levels checked.

Agreeing with Denver my mom(RNYin 07) has pica and is anemic.

But she has ice chips and pork skins on rotation....

I've spent many of days at 7-11 loading up on ice for her..

Treena don't feel bad, I am right on your back with at least 3lbs a day. I can't help it and I am taking Iron pills. Go figure...... It's my snack of choice -- really....

Glad you FINALLY went to the doc - now don't post SHIOT else about this till you know the blood work results!!! Took you TOO DAYUM LONG to take your behind in to the doc in the FIRST place! Stop playing with your health - when you need to get something checked, get UP and do it!!!!

And did you check in on my Vet's post???? Going to read now.........
