Psycological Aspect
I have been overweight about 80% of my life. I know that I will experience some mental, and emotional issues after wls. I also know that I will gain confidence which is something I have not always had.
Please share post ops if you have had any issues. What kinds? How did you overcome them?

Hey SG,
I'm less than 2 months Post, and I can't say that I've had any mental or emotional issues yet. I think I'm too busy to have any. Sometimes I want the weight to come off faster, but I know that won't happen so I just keep doing the right things. This thing effects so many people in different ways. Just remember while you're in the game and make sure you win.

Weight loss surgery is 90% mental and 10% physical. I believe most people will agree that you have got to have your mind right. I will tell you that my mind was not right and I still deal with issues to this day. I try to remain focus and keep it moving. I am over 2 years out and I am not at goal yet but I am not even close to where I was. Good luck to you.
People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown
Hello!
My name is Dawnese and I had the gastric bypass procedure seven years ago. Before I went under I weighted 330 lbs, two years post-op, I got down to 180. I now weight 300 lbs. I did everything that was required for me to be successful and lose weight. I worked out-hard (six days a week), ate right, but I neglected to my sstrengthen my mind.
I was never a confident person and after the surgery I developed a false-sense of confidence. I loved the attention I received and adored the new clothes. But my mind...I battled everyday.
Sis, please do this one thing for yourself: ask God to strengthen your mind; search your heart and remove all that will hinder you. I pray that you believe with all of your heart, so that you can receive the desires God has for you.
Blessings,
