Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday!!!

So yesterday I go in to follow up on my labs and some breathing issues, come to find out I have Asthma????

I swear I thought I was a crackhead after that breathing treatment

I just thought my breathing was hard because I was fat!!

That's what I get for self diagnosing. Now Im on two inhalers

My Vitamin D level is still low currently at a 19 but it was a 7,  3 months ago so I'm making process!!! Now I'm taking 100,000 i.u. a week for 12 more weeks

B-12 is low so now I'm on monthly shots!!

Getting ready for the WLS has been a blessing in disguise.

Thanks God for creating, Jesus for saving, and the Holy Ghost for sustaining ME!

Hi Kells,
I was diagnosed with asthma about a month before surgery too.  I had 2 inhalers that I had to take everyday and pills.  I was really upset with myself because it just seemed like my health was deteriorating rapidly right before the surgery that I was getting to improve my health.

But thank God that after having some breathing complications in the hospital post surgery and receiving a couple of nebulizer (sp) treatments I no longer needed the advair and the other inhaler after about a week post op.

So I say all of this to say it could be related to your weight and prayerfully it will resolve itself after the surgery.

Good luck!

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough go of it but it is a blessing that you are finding all of this out now though.

Hang in there.  It does get better.

I was put on breathing treatments while I was in the hospital.  I got a pulmonary clearance pre-op and I know it wasn't perfect but it didn't indicate asthma.  Then after I had surgery I was on a nebulizer every 4 hours until release from the hospital.

Hang in there.  It will all work out in the end.  Get the vitamin thing under control because you are a likely candidate for a deficiency post op.  I was fine pre-op but now I"m low on vitamin D. The vitamin D pills are nasty.

You know I am coming thru with the tough love, right?

LET this be a LESSON to you!  If you are not planning on going to school for 8 years then doing a reseidency rotation at a hospital to become an MD, STOP playing one!!!!!

Even AFTER WLS - regular checkups and going to the doc when you have problems is KEY!!!!!  It's the 21st century!!!  no need to be home making remedies with methaliate and mecruicome - pick up the phone and make an appt!!!!!
