What's the deal with the Magic Bullet?

Good Morning BAF,

Happy weekend to all.  I'm fairly new to the site and my RNY is scheduled for 08.03.09.  I'm really excited and counting the days!  In talking with my nut, she suggested purchasing a Magic Bullet for pureeing and processing foods in the various stages.  Has anyone used one?  Is it worth the cost?  What's the difference from a regular blender?  Can a blender do the same for processing food?

Thanks,

J

I love my Magic Bullett.  It is smaller than most blenders and has alot of power to be so small.  I am over a year out formmy lap band and I still use it to make my shakes.  I use it to make home made salsa. Margaritias (smile) on those special occassions.  Smoothies.  Chop veggies.  I feel it's work every cent.

I am not afraid of tomorrow,
for I have seen yesterday
and I love today......

Good luck on your upcoming WLS!!!

I am 3 years out and on my second magic bullet!  So I can't live without it.  I am even considering purchasing the larger bullet.  I mainly use it for my protein smoothies.  I've even made sugar free/low fat/chocolate/peanut butter mousse in it..  So the creativity level is amazing!

Purchase it, you won't regret it.

I have a JCPenney version of the Magic Bullet.  You can make your protien shakes quickly, rinse of the blades and you are on your way.  You have 5 or 6 cups with it so you do not have to clean the blender cup every day.  I paid $19 compared to $56 for the Magic Bullet.  Beware of the Sunbeam version.

The Magic Bullet is fantastic mixing protein drinks...I use it all the time and yes, it is definitely worth the cost.

I have a magic bullet and I love it.  A couple of my friends have similar ones they purchased from Macy's / J.C. Penney.

Their's work just as well as mine.  I agree with CoolBreeze (earlier post) the cheaper one's are just as good.  When / if mine breaks I will replace it with the cheaper version.

But to answer your question, yes they are worth having .... better, quicker, easier than a blender.
