Baltimore Friends !!!
I am in Baltimore, and Dr. A was my surgeon as well. I can tell you my RNY experience, but you might be able to better understand your surgery by asking questions about surgical particulars on the VSG board. However, if you need support we are here for you. I was also at St. Agnes hospital (and I have mixed opinions about that place). I just saw Dr. A today for a follow up appt, and I am down 105.6 since September. If you would like someone to visit you in the hospital, just let me know.
Everyone here understands your fear, but we are all here to offer support.
ETA: Edited to correct my poor azz spelling. What's wrong with me today?

The hospital itself is fine. However, in my experience, there was a BIG difference between the night staff and the day staff. The day staff seemed cranky and unconcerned. My night nurse was a trained bariatric nurse and was a wealth of information. She was wonderful. She was so great that I told Dr. A about her and suggested that he make her a part of his aftercare team. She was that good. The rest of those nurses could kick rocks as far as I was concerned. Hopefully that nurse is still there, and she offers you excellent care as well. I'll hit you on the backline with my email address if you want to ask more detailed questions about Dr. A and his office.
