I have become what I thought was insane

We always hear people talking about getting on the scale everyday and how u shouldn't do that.
I have said that to some and thought it as insane, but now here I stand.  Six months out and  after hitting that 100 lb lost mark and loving this body, I too have began weighing in at least twice a day.  I just realized today............that I have a problem.

My name is Lisa, and I am a scalaholic.

I have gotten back on track with my workouts and have upped it a notch cause I  haven't been loosing as fast as before sooooooo

Now I am so desperate to see that scale move again that I am becoming obsessed with it.  I don't want to feen for the scale.  I have it in my kitchen which I know I shouldn't but if I keep it out of sight then I may be more tempted to eat bad foods, and not only that, I will just weigh in at the gym everytime.  Can I get some of you reformed scalaholics to help me out.

Your TRUE weight is right after getting up in the morning and taking that 1st bathroom break.
Over the course of each day your weight will fluctuate.
Set a routine "if you must" weight every day.  Do it at that one time and then leave it alone.  Or weigh 1 day a week on the same day and time and record it.

Anything else will drive you absolutely crazy with the ups and downs.

The scale disease is a hard one to beat after surgery.  It is actually a great tool to help you stay on track.  Just learn how to use your tool so that it does not make you insane.

Hi Lisa!..

But for real....I weigh myself 2-3 times a week. It helps keep me focus on my goal. Don't do it to the point it makes you crazy. Step off the scale and enjoy your new you!

I weigh in every day after my shower and I don't see a problem with that.  For me it's a way of staying accountable.  I've noticed that certain foods adds extra water weight to my body a day or so later and I know right away when I've hit a stall.

Personally, I wouldn't want to have weighed myself 2 weeks ago and then weigh in again to find that the scale hasn't moved in two weeks or possibly have gone up.  I want to know right away if I need to step it up.  We have a very small window of opportunity and I'm trying my best to make the most of it.

No but on another note....Lisa I am sorry but when I see you, all I think about your first post-op question...I can't help but wonder if you tried swallowing a certain "something"  and what happened when you did?

I am seriously really curious! What type of effect did it have on you? Did it make you sick? Did you get full?
