Do you ignore folk on Facebook when they request you as a friend?

I am wondering about this - on here, I accept any and all requests - but on FB, I have ignored a couple of requests - mainly because it's folk that I really don't know that well and I don't want them reading what I have out there - I have certain personas and things I present to some folk that I don't present or allow some to see.

I don't consider this being 'fake' or whatever - hell - I just don't know some folk well enough to share what I share on FB with THEM - ya dig?

Case and point - yesterday a sister of a close friend of mine sent me a friend request.  I have met her, talked to her but we have never seen each other unless at a function MY friend invited me to and this sister has had "private" conversations with me WAY in the past that she turned around and tried to tell MY friend that I was dogging her!  I igg'ed that request because I don't want her in my bidness reading my profile, seeing info on me.

So - what's your friend rule?

I don't have a problem AT ALL ignoring someone.  Whether it's because I don't know them, don't like them.....whateva!

Besides, they don't get a notification saying I ignored them.....they just eventually find out when I don't become their friend.

Now on the other hand, there have been times when I don't recognize someone who has requested me as a friend and we had mutual BAF friends.  In that case I will ask one of the mutual friends who they are.  That's ONLY because they  are probably someone else from BAF and on here they go by a screen name and I may not know there real name.  Other than that, I don't go investigating.

I don't have a problem ignoring anyone on FB.  On this site you generally have people here that have the same goals as you.  Too lose weight and become a healthy person.  FB is really a social site.  I am picky about who I accept and I have some now that I am thinking about deleting from my friend list.

Now would that be wrong?

Whom ever said that people who have WLS are taking the easy way out, have never had this experience.  This is a journey and a major challenge.  Step by step I am striving to make it as a loser!!

MM....all I can say is that I messed up big time by not having a friend rule thought out in advance. My number one mistake was accepting people I work with as friends. Now I have to be careful...about what I post...what time I post it...and all that bull shioot...I really want to create another account so that I can have a personal and professional one. These nosey ass people around here are just looking for a reason...to get my black arse in trouble...while its under cover...they hate that I am the gatekeeper for the research funds here... I replaced a woman that had been in this position 25 years before me....and many of them were not easy to let me forget it when I started...now...I feel like I am under a microscope all over again.

As for other friends...I am pretty much open...if they are friends of friends...I will accept them...but if I see that they are not posting equally personal things (family pics, opinions etc...)...I will scratch them off in a minute.  I have one guy that requested me as a friend. After I accepted, all I saw was an empty shell of a profile. I told him that he needed to put some stuff up on his profile...and stop being a freaking peeping tom. I gave him a month...and then scratched him off when he did not put anything up.  I figure its all about social networking...getting to know other people so I don't put any deeply personal stuff on there at all.

The shiot is going to be funny though....because for the most part its gonna look like Harriet Tubman paid a visit to my profile....LOL!
