WOW...I've been Approved...........x-post
Fnally after two long months withAetna I've been approved! Thank You Lord! But the way I was approved is freaky...I called Aetna to see if they had finaly received info from doctor that was submitted over 10 days age lady says no still don't see anything. Explained to lady how frustating this was getting going back and forth and nobody knows what 's happening. Any whoo lady took my contact info and said she would call back within the hour (yeah right) well she did , and she said that she found my file and went to the nurse that was reviewing it and asked if she could just change the code from lap- band (previous submission and approval) to RNY. The nurse didi it!!!!! When the customer service lady came back to the phone she told me she had it done 5 years ago and understood what I was going through 
. I could have kissed that woman she gave me codes and phone numbers to keep for reference she gave me advice. And said I could even call afterwards if I had questions. How awesome is that. 
I have been mainly a lurker on this board but you guys have helped me with so much. Thank You!! But now I'm nervous the Dr wants me to have an Upper GI. How bad is that will I puke will I remember anything or know whats going on . Give me all the details. I'm more afriad of this than the surgery. HELP

Congrats. I know how you feel. I was so disappointed the first time I went for approval and the insurance company said my request was denied. I was like "huh"....mouth all open and stuff....lol.
The woman was so nice and told me the only reason it was denied was because someone who submitted the claim put the wrong tax number on the form....WHAT!!!!!
I was so upset and it was a holiday weekend so I had to wait until everyone came back into the doctors office, but they fixed it and the next day it was approved.
Talk about stress. I have a surgery date of June 30, 09. It's a revision from VGB to RNY.

The GI is a breeze, I had mine done and I was put to sleep, didn't feel a thing!!!

....Congrats on your approval....dont worry about the GI test you wont feel a thing.
