I am so through with doctors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning BAF!

Well family, I have come to the realization that doctors really don't know everything!  I've never experienced anything like this before....having something wrong and doctors not being able to diagnose the problem.  All my tests have come back with NOTHING wrong.

This latest....the colonoscopy, came back showing what I already knew, the diverticulitis.  As long as I continue to eat right, that won't flair up and I know that has nothing to do with my symptoms.

I had long talks with my gastro specialist and my primary care physician yesterday and they both feel the pain is the result of arthritis.  Ok, so I'm not really feeling this diagnosis, but they are the doctors, so I'll role with it.  But....the relief from it is what I have a problem with ....it's an anti inflammatory NSAID.  We, as RNY patience should not be taking this.  Both doctors laid out the risks of all my alternatives....Tylenol will ruin my liver, Vicoden and Percocet is addictive long term, and the NSAID causes stomach ulcers.  WTF?????

Of those three, the NSAID seems the most doable since I already take Nexium daily (which will help prevent ulcers if I take it along with the NSAID and a meal).  I also called my WL surgeon to get his opinion.  He basically told me to weigh the pros and cons and if I do decide to take the NSAID, pay very close attention to symptoms.  He ended the convo by asking, can you just live with the pain?   Needless to say, I was glad we were on the phone and NOT face to face!

So, that's it, I will start taking this today and see if it helps.  If it doesn't, then I will know for sure that the pain is really coming from the small cyst on my pancreas.  I don't want to have another surgery, but I also don't want to live with this pain.  I really wish there was a way to tell for sure if the cyst is the problem, but I was told that the position of the pancreas makes it hard to tell unless they go in and look.   I'm REALLY not trying to go through exploratory surgery, so that's were it stands.

Keep the prayers coming family....THANKS SO MUCH!

You need Dr. House!!!

Or - you could go on a vacation to Canada - doctors there would probably do a better job.  Damn shame American doctors ain't worth a damn sometimes.........
