Ten pounds in a month

At 5+ months out is that considered slow weight loss for you vets post-ops?  I am asking this question because from May 5 to now I have barely lost ten pounds.  98% of the time I followed my surgeon and nut plan.  I exercise minium of four days a week and I almost always make my water and protein goal.  I take my vitamins daily so I think it is just what my body wants to do right now.  I am just asking to see if anyone else experienced something similiar this early out.

Hi!

I'm not a vet, as I had my RNY 3 days before you but I think that it might be normal as I lost 12 pounds from May 5 myself and am noticing it with others that had surgery around the same time as me.  I too follow my surgeon's plan and hope that this is the slow down that every talks about and  not a stop.

I hope that it's normal, hmm, I have my 6 month appt next week, I'll ask.  I will say this,  I plugged my info into the BMI and Goal weight calculator and it says that I am right on time so I hope that helps at least.  I get nervous that I will stop too but when I see what the #'s say I should be at it does make me feel a bit better.

Here's the calculator if you would like to see it.  It bases it off of the percentage of excess weight to lose.

My goal 135; current 132;  pre-op highest 285; I have lost more than I weigh...  I my RNY!

I checked the calculator out and I am about nine pounds off so not bad.  I have changed so I know it will work out.  I guess I better watch what I put in my mouth more and move more I am sure that will help.  There is always room for improvement so I better step my game up.

Where can I find the calculator?  I'd love to know how far off the mark I am!

Thanks,
Deb

Hi HF...I am losing 10-12 lbs per month w/ about 56 lbs to go...From May 3rd until The 8th of June I have lost about 11 lbs...Which is less than 10 lbs for 1 month...I am not sure if that is considered slow or not but I do know that every person and every month is different...Some are great and some are just okay...I am taking it one lb at a time.

I feel you on that every month and week for that matter is different.  I thought I ask though.  Thanks

i'm 4.5 years post op, and you will have month where it seems extra slow then the next month you may lose 20lbs.  don't get caught up looking at the numbers, use the slow months to tone some that loose skin, the faster the the weight comes off the more flab u will have.  u still have another 12 months of losing trust me.

Thanks I will be trying my best to lose during my losing window.  I try my best not to get caught up in the numbers game sometimes I can not help myself.

Highly Favored;

Don't beat yourself up ...We all have those months. Just stop, regroup figure out what you can do differently and move ahead. It's going to be challenges like this. But this too shall pass.

Stay positive!
