Palm Pre

Afternoon, all...

For those who asked...I have had a little bit of time to check out my new phone, the Palm Pre.  I actually like it.  Word to everyone...THIS IS NOT THE TYPICAL PALM PHONE WE ARE/WERE USED TO!  Nope...not at all!

This phone operates on a Web-based operating system (not Palm, not Windows).  There is no desktop synching - it is synched via the web (ain't that something?)...Do you have contacts on AOL/Yahoo/Facebook, etc.? Well, the phone (via the web) will pull your contacts (download) and place them on your Pre...got the same contacts in all places? Well, it will place 'like' contacts in one file! Just amazing!

Right now...I am happy I purchased the phone...but Lord knows I have to go through a 'review' of this little number.

Also, if you are one who is hard on cell phones (dropping...kicking it around (LOL)...I would not advise you to buy this phone...my observation is that it is a 'cute' phone but packs power, ability and features that we haven't seen.  Just as the iPhone has "apps" - this one has "cards" that do the same types of things.

I hear the Pre is on back order now and that there are waiting lists in areas.  Glad Niecie and I were numbers 5 and 6 in line!

So happy that you are enjoying your new toy! I did not get one...but after taking a camera pic of my mom at her birthday dinner...and it came out essentially a blurr....I realized that it was time for me to get a new phone as well. I got a Tmobile G1 and I am in heaven...I was living in the stone ages with my old phone. So I know how you feel right now. I am getting ready to play with it some more...trying to figure this baby out.  Technology can  be something else. Have a good one.

I am a highly satisfied and loyal Tmobile customer. Believe me I tried a few before stopping at TMobile... not going to name names but T-mobile has been the fairest with me. I have been with you all  for almost 4 years...never a problem. Thanks...have a good one.     

I'm hatin Donna!!!  I should have gotten one.  I went to the Sprint store yesterday and played with one.  I guess I'll have to stick it out with my Centro for a while.

Hey Telaya, I still haven't done much with the phone....but, I do love it...and the pictures it takes are BEAUTIFUL...oh, one thing I didn't mention - it has 7 gigs of non-expandable memory...but 7 gigs?

Yes, I am very pleased...SO FAR! And, to the others - I've been a pleased Premier Sprint customer for 6 years...I've had a couple of issues with them, but for the most part, no complaints.

Thanks for the review.  That web based os may be a deal breaker for me.  May go for that tmobile phone mentioned.
