Firstly, this is not an excuse on and indictment. I look at this as a reminder for ME that there are those who's hearts are actually in the right place and actually ARE misunderstood. For sure, there ARE those who ARE the one's who fall into the negative stereotype.
For me, its not a defense but an affirmation for those who's hearts ARE in the right place.

Like I said, depending on one's experience...but you have to question when the writer says, " When are black men going to become worthy opponents instead of looking for an easy win? What's that about....why do we have to be OPPONENTS; Relationships are about consensus building and compatibility. From my experience there are many people with "good hearts" and intentions, at some point that has to Manifest itself in actions. Also, I am not just speaking about Black Women, but also Black Men, or any type of Relationship for that matter. There just is not enough Respect anymore...and I'll bet 98% of those you ask will say that they have good intentions. Relationships in this Country (USA) are terrible and it's mainly because one, both or all parties "Believe" that they have some Cultural stigma that "they just can't change" or that they should be the "Boss" either via Religious Scripture, Age, Education, Wealth, Position or Sex. I'm saying stop trying to justify BAD/Offensive Behavior, whether male or female and begin to look at causes and real actions, then make some changes. I was speaking for Myself, and I'm done with these "justifications" for bad behavior/nasty attitudes by Black Women, and equally bad behavior/half assness by Black Men. "Don't **** on Me and call it Rain!"
The fact is, we are stuck with each other, just as White Women are stuck with White Men, and so on and so on...who cares about the "defectors", they have their own set of problems that they have to work on because most "mixed" couples stay together less than traditionally connected couples in any given Ethnic Group.
