Hernia

Howdy howdy,

Just an update on the I think that I have a hernia delima.

It's official I DO have a hernia, so much for the binder preventing this. My Surgeon said that some will get one regardless so my buzzards luck prevailed.

He said that we could schedule the surgery for the end of August so that I could enjoy the summer. He then said since he will already be inside that if I want he will switch me. I never even contemplated that happening but it makes sense so I may as well go for the gusto. I asked for the longer common channel so my vitamin regimine will not be as severe. He also gave me a B-12 injection on today. Everything else was right on target and he is very pleased with my weight loss so far.

PS. I want to also add that my Uncle who was deemed terminally ill due to being too weak for a life saving surgery has improved to the point that they will be performing the surgery on tomorrow. His risks are still high, but I for one am happy because they are not giving up. Please say a special prayer for Uncle Wendell I think that he is going to pull through because he has always had excellent general health and that played a huge role in all of this.

Good news about Uncle Wendell!

I have a hernia  and I wore a binder too.  Mine didn't develop until I was a couple of years post op.

Did you have your hernia repaired?

OMG, that speech!   

Regarding the hernia, I didn't have it repaired.  My surgeon told me that as long as it doesn't get any larger or cause me discomfort I can leave it alone.  It's about the size of a walnut.

Gurl mine feels like a golfball and it hurts if I lift stuff.

Noooo that wasn't the speech, mama's fish message was the part that I forgot to tell him. When I had spoken with him 2 days prior I was telling him how great an Uncle he's been all my life and then I got emotional trying to get the words out and stuff like that. Uncle Wendell is the type who when it's all over with call me and NEVA let me live it down. He will later tell EVERYONE about it and laugh as he re-inact it word for word, he'll probably throw mama's message in there too...whoo just the thought. I KNOW that I have it coming.

A hernia!  OMG, I didn't know the binder was supposed to prevent that.  Your surgeon is on the ball with killing two birds with one stone getting both those things done for you.

Yup my surgeon actually said that it would greatly decrease the possibility of a post op hernia if not prevent, but none was the case for me. I am actually thankful for the hernia because of the bonus of getting switched. I don't think that my insurance would've been too happy paying for a third wls.
