Y'all seen the posts:

"My Family Is Scared for Me to Have Surgery"
"My Husband Likes My Weight"
"I Want to Have Surgery to Get the Girls"

I can go on and on. * I * had surgery because WonkaD wanted it for herself. I wanted to be healthy and I couldn't give a rat's arse about catching someones attention.

SOOOOOOOOOOO........

Why did Mo'nique, who became famous by talking about skinny otches, jump ship and start to lose weight?

Oh wait...I know.....

Because HER HUSBAND told her to!!!

Am I overly sensitive today????

jet_mo_sid

Mo discusses her 40-pound weight loss with the magazine. She says a conversation with her husband prompted her to lose some weight.

Mo admits to having weighed as much as 262 pounds at one point.

“I decided that I had to get some of that off of me," she says. “Sid and I had a conversation. What he said to me was motivation. It was so gentle and sweet and he wasn’t judgmental. He said, ‘Baby, that’s too much and I want you for a lifetime.’"

Wait a minute...she needed her hubby to tell her what should have been obvious?   Then again, sometimes when actually IN a situation, we don't actually SEE it.  An outside observer might better than we do.

Hey, Juanita, I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.   For all we know, the underlying sentiment from the hubby could have been (and only they know for sure) "Lose the weight, Mo', or lose me!"

Hey, stranger things have happened.

"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer."   Plutach.  Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.

You're right...sometimes it does take an outsider to hip us. Shoot, I know I thought I was doing the dang 100lbs ago.

LOL @ wonka. Girl you might be a little bit sensitive. He basically told her that he wanted her healthy and around to help him take care of all those dag on kids they got. (Sorry I digress) He didn't say he wanted her to lose weight to look a certain way. I think sometimes we can all be on a road of self destruction and sometimes it takes someone close to us to get us to wake up and smell the coffee. Monique is right being overweight is unhealthy and no matter what kind of comic spin she wanted to put on it. Or how she wanted to hide behind the high self esteem. Nothing will change the fact that 262 pounds is an unhealthy weight to be.  I personally don't care what reason gets people or myself off the couch and do something about my health status as long as you get it done.

Hey Ladies and Dwayne!  This is going to be an interesting topic for a minute.  I was thinking, when I read it that, he said it nicely and he really cares.  I still believe that.  She is a pretty girl and, for her height, she was too big.... And they do have small children, etc.

Which brings me to my other point, I recently told my boyfriend of 6 months, they he is going to have to lose some weight...   I didn't feel bad saying it, because I didn't say it mean, but because I really care for him.  He's a 6'5 and weigh's close to 300 pounds.  I am like "what the hell?" The fact that he put 25 of those pounds on since we met, is startling me!!!  Anyway, I told him that he can't be putting all that body weight on me...  I got's to be able to breathe...  But on the real, I do care about him and want him to be around.  He's already breathing heavy (while he's awake) so you know that the SNORING is almost unbearable....

Anyway, the underlying decision to lose weight should be about us and our own decision, but when you have family and friends that care about you, maybe, just maybe you can take that into consideration.  But I KNOW we ALL know, that UNLESS you make up your OWN mind to change something, it will NEVER BE DONE...

Have a blessed day all...

Kim,

Anyway, I told him that he can't be putting all that body weight on me...  I got's to be able to breathe

Health reasons is fine. I think as we get more comfortable with the person, we feel more inclined to put in out .02 and give out advice. Corny is 5'9" and weighs 230lbs. He can't really workout due to his hip replacement and limited range of motion, but I'm going to get him started on the Wii Active just to target his upper body. I'm happy she listened to him and got off that fat is cute shiott.

Hey Kim,

I agree.  Although, one of my friends is 6'4" and weighs about 280 lbs. however, he does not have any health issues and although he is tall and thick...I like him just the way he is!

Yes, I'm big time sensitive today. I read the article and just got SUPA DUPA CHARGED. Mo' had me thinking for a minute that being PHAT looked good on me.

SELF-EMPOWERMENT!!!

Yeah right....at the end of the day, I was still that thunder thigh rubbing, no high heel wearing, always craving some vienna sausages sister.

Kudos to her for losing the weight.

You're so right.  It has to be by you for you when it comes to your own body.  Hope its what she really wants for her health and not her man's satisfaction.
