anyone on a regular meal plan now
How do carbs and fiber work out in the diet? I think I heard something like you should subtract the fiber from the carbs and thats the total???? Is that correct?
Also what are some of the foods you started out eating when you were released for everything. I had crackers today, down the hatch and fine. What kind of bacon (prob turkey or canadian) do you guys use and when did you try it? Boy have I been craving some. And cream cheese and string cheese. Both were preop favs especially cream cheese spread on a cracker..mmmmm. Hows soon before you tried these? Oh and deli meat..I need some deli meat.

If you want to count net carbs, that is only the carbohydrates that rapidly raise your blood sugar, you subtract the fiber and sugar alcohol from total carbs. Just like the atkins diet.
I ate deli meat almost right away. It was the only meat I could eat comfortably for awhile. I stuck to lean, low fat types like boars head brand ham, turkey and roast beef. For more proccessed deli meats like baloney, butterball turkey cold cuts work for me. Watch the sodium and fat with deli meats especially if you have high blood pressure or retain water.
I haven't had any of the cheeses you mentioned, but I've had regular and canadian bacon with no problem. I'd try the bacon at home first since it is high in fat and check the sugar content. Same sodium warning as above.
I limit my intake of deli processed meats because of the fat and sodium content.

V'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
Most of my carbs come from my breakfast or popcorn. I eat either shredded wheat in the morning or oatmeal. Watch the crackers. I love crackers too and I noticed that I will eat crackers all day long because it's easy and convient and slide right through.
I don't really eat bacon because it's greasy and my pouch hates grease.
I love string cheese and have been eating it since I was released on soft food. Cream cheese has no protein and is high in calories. You are better off with the cheese cubes with crackers.
I was cleared for all food at 2 months out.
I'm super lazy and I have a finicky pouch. I tend to stick with my staples: chili, refried beans, chicken, fish, ground turkey.
A fellow bypasser gave me this chocolate sugarfree turtle like candy. Damn that was so good but 15 minutes after I ate it the room start spinning. I dumped so damn hard on that crap I had to leave the job. I don't even remember driving home and passing out on the couch. Be careful of what you try and where you try it.
