very true Ya Ya ....a real woman knows thats one of the top ten methods to keep the SO at home
This topic made me think of something that happened the other day with my Mother.
She is currently in Texas to be with her terminally ill Brother.
Note: Not a particularly sad occasion, infact it seems to me as if he is getting a bon voyage to a vacation. It's one of those everyone is at peace deaths.
Anywho, I was thankful that my uncle and I got to say our goodbyes. Two days later, I realized that there was something that I meant to tell him that I had forgotten, but really did not want to go through all of the goodbye hoopla again, soooooo I asked my mother who has the early stages of dementia to give him a simple message from me.
Me: Mama, I don't want to tire out Uncs so will you give him one last message from me.
Mama: "Yes what is the message."
Me: Tell Uncle Wendell that from now on everytime that I catch a fish that I will think of him. (He loves to fish just like me).
Mama: "Okay."
Me: Thanks.
(Her voice suddenly gets loud and high pitched like Martin Paynes mother, dementia warning
)
Mama: "Wendell, Quettia said to tell you that from now on that everytime that she catches a fish, that she's gonna TELLLLLLL THAT FISH THAT HIS NAME IS WENDELL
."
She suddenly comes back and softly says, "I told him and he said okay." I just shook my head and left it at that

LOL!!!!! I know that your Uncle was like WTF?. I'm glad that everyone is at peace and my thoughts and prayers are with your family, especially your moma cause she's there doing her part, and although it's expected it still feels like someone's cut off one of your limbs when a sibling dies.

I understand where you are coming from. I have twins and for the first 9 years their dad would ask could he claim one on his taxes. When I told him no, he states that I act like I take care of them all by myself. Let me see I only get less that $300 a month for two and I have to take care of them all year long and buy all their school clothes, lunch money, and extra spending money. HELL YEAH I take care of them all by myself...

^5 Lisa........they think money that they send is enough to raise a child on..,....dont get me wrong it helps out and we do appreciate the brothers who pay faithfully. However in reality its not enough...let me break it down how things really are...I am going to use my case as an example.
$200 a month for my son
MONTHLY EXSPENSES
electric and gas (of which he uses his fair share....... $300
food( which he puts away cause he is a growing boy or young man.........$250
cable/internet/phone service pkg ( which he watches regulaly )....................................................$125
clothing(those of you who have boys know how exspensive boys/men clothing is.........$50 or less...but that his clothing budget for the month cause moms aint rich so he will get one to two items a month more if he happens to catch a great sale...( he is a smart shopper cause he knows what budgeting means)
lunch/bus money......$68 ..ok I am going to stop the list there to sum things up
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that adds up to 793 dollars of caring for my son costs -200 child support leaves me with 593 dollars of raising kid exspens
for his dad thats 2,400 a year and 43,000 for 18 years
for me its 7,116 a year and 128,088 for 18 years ( thats not even including colleges costs )
and the men wonder why we trip when they dont pay...fellas the numbers dont lie
