Wow...this is a reality check....I know that I was not good at taking my vitamin for a while...I also think my memory has been impacted...but not as severe as hers. Thanks for posting this Wonkad.

Excellent reminder!!!

Over the years, I have grazed, I've eaten some foods I shouldn't, drank some wine I shouldn't, and  came up short on exercise.  (Hence the 40 pounds that caught up with me over time.)

The 2 things I did NOT skimp on were water & supplements!

My husband came to those pre-surgical meetings with me and REALLY took away that my very life depended on taking those supplements FOREVER.  Even when funds were tight, we found a way to buy those supplements.  Ten years later, my (wonderful) Hubby still either peeps my pill container when he takes his vitamins, or asks me if I took them today.

It's NOT OPTIONAL.  It's NO JOKE what can happen to a WLS patient without adequate water & supplements.

I refuse to skip mine.  I treat them like life saving medicine.

OMG....i needed to read this. I can be honest with you guys, but I have never taken my vitamins the way I was suppose to. Last time I went to the Dr, he put me on over the counter B-12 and I think I have taken it maybe 5 times, my vitamin D has always been low, even prior to surgery and multi vitamin...dont take at all. After reading this I MUST do better. Getting up now to take my vitamins.

I have been lax with taking mine, I admit it.  I get all caught up with not taking multi and calcium at the same time, not taking calcium too soon before or after drinking coffee, blah blah blah...and b vitamins, I don't wanna take b 12 sublingually I want to be able to take b complex pills blah blah blah...

I knew what I signed on for.  I knew all of this and still did it.  Soooo, no more excuses!
