Pasta and Rice
I would love to have a small forkful of angel hair pasta or a spoonful of rice, but am terrified to try it. I've been told stories about pasta and rice that involves much pain and
. But as I read through the posts, I found that it is common for post-ops to eat those things.
I realize that everyone is different but just wondering....if you eat pasta/rice how long was it before you attempted to do so and what was the reaction? Also, do you eat whole wheat pasta and brown rice or the regular white stuff?

**I** see nothing wrong with a forkful of whole wheat pasta or brown rice AFTER you have met your protein requirement. What does your nutritionist suggest?
I had no restrictions after the first 6 weeks, but I stuck to protein first. That was followed by green vegetables, fruit, and then, starches. Usually, there was not enough room for the starch.
Of course, early out, you may want to limit your carb intake for best results.
FYI - I eat 100% whole wheat pasta, bread, buns and brown rice occasionally AND in moderation (but look over there at my surgery date).

Forbidden food for first six months per my diet plan. I'd kill for some rice. Us Carribean folk need our rice...

pasta rice dont agree with me at all so needless to say I dont touch the stuff anymore.
DONT DO IT!!! I am a year out and I can only tolerate a very small amount of both of them. So at 2 months out....you will be setting yourself up to be sick..
But to answer your question, pasta gives me
and rice makes my stomach hurt, I mean really hurt. Fried rice from like the Chinese restaurant is an absolute no no. I can eat a couple of spoon fulls of rice if it is over cooked.

I was released to eat it at 2 months but I haven't had any. My NUT wants me to cut back on protein and up the whole grains, fruits and veggies. If it's in your NUT's guidelines, then give it a try. You won't know what will happen until you try it.

I had a lil spaghetti today!! Im about four months out and it goes fine, my Dr told me that i'd be able to eat anything (just not the stuff i dont need to eat) as long as its chewed down to darn near paste and you should be good. But be careful cause you never know your tummy vs other ppls tummies!!
