Ok now its my turn to have a newbie question

Yes let's because I just got done with surgery that is the LAST thing I want to repeat anytime soon.

I got a hernia in my incision line also...recovery time was 4 weeks ( june 2008 )...they put a synthetic mesh material at the opening where the hernia is and then sew you back up...over time you form scar tissuse around the mesh which lessens your chance of having a repeat hernia in that area.   Even though I went back to work right after my 4 weeks I could still feel the mesh screen scratching me and that was a little uncomfortable for a while.

Oh my gosh...Thanks for sharing your experience. I guess time will tell with me ughh I am just tired of the pain and hope it goes away soon.
