Ok now its my turn to have a newbie question
I have been having pain in my stomach near my incision they think (my dr.'s office) its posible I can have a hernia. I will know next week wednesday when I see the dr. Already went for the cat scan to see what it is. So if I do have a hernia and they have to do surgery how much additional time do you think I will have to be off of work? Whats involved in hernia repair surgery? Can anyone gleam some light on this for me?
Hi,
I can't help you but just wanted to say that I am right where you are. I was given a binder to wear during my recovery and beyond. I wear it faithfully but after moving 2 weeks ago I noticed a golfball sized knot at my incision site. (I had open) Last night I felt a little pain and felt again and now the knot is much larger

. I called my surgeon on today and will be seen on the 2cd of June.

My cousin had a hernia repaired and it was about 3weeks recovery. It depends ofcourse how big the incision is to repair it and where it is. But that was his experience and it went well.
Hope that helps.

I dont know nothing about an hernia, I just want to say: I am sorry that you are having pain from a possible hernia especially since you are so new. Not that it is a good time to have to have surgery but after WLS, if you going to have an hernia, getting it farther down the line is sometime a blessing in disguise, due to the fact that it can sometimes give one the chances to get a tummy tuck through their insurance without the red tape, I couldnt help but to look at the date of your surgery and think, dang, if only she had a few more months under her belt, this could be a blessing to her.
