what ****** you off about it? The fools that are just dumb about everything, don't read teh material, want you to make the decision for them/People who have no intention of booking, but using you to do the legwork (find the hotel, flight, etc). Then they go to book on Expedia, etc... they get to their vacation and there's a problem.  Guess who they call??? No, kneegrow, call who u booked through.  What?  They can't help you?  Gee, guess you're up chit's creek.  Business-  NEVER personal! (Ok, I had to vent).

since we play cousins, can i get the hook up on some airfare?

my job working for "da man"   what I like is it helps me keep my biz afloat during the slow periods & helps me pay the bills.

what I hate about it?  That on a daily basis that people remind how STUPID we can be.  Honestly, when you have to argue with a funeral director  because he followed up because he hadn't received the fax that he originally requested and you advise him that you are going to fax it to him & then you advise him after  that "it's been faxed"  and his little pea brain that has obviously been dipped in his  own formaldahyde can't wrap the meaning around that statement & wants to question you about when was it faxed, " this morning, last night,..." & then he wants to argue about it.   Lord know I don't do stupid well.  But that's the kind of crap I have to deal with day in & day out.

Amen sista!! You are preaching to the choir!!    Now, I am old school, been in the travel biz in one form or fashion for years and have had my own agency for the last seven, so it is hard for me to completely implement a research fee.  So, what I have been doing now is doing basic research giving them a couple of options without specific details (.i..e 3 * hotel across the street, air for XXX per person)  then I attach a service request form & advise them if they want more information or would like to book, then they can complete the form & we will proceed.   This has cut down on my having to deal with the tire kickers.    

Let' not even talk about family & friends trying to use you... My parents are the only ones who I take seriously, but everybody else including a sister, I just listen to their request & keep on about my business.  Been burned way too many times by them.  This has helped to keep my blood pressure down, as the last time my sister asked her to help her, which took away time from real potential clients, went beyond my last nerve, when she told me that after I had given her quotes, that dh went ahead & booked it himself!

However, I love the travel business and I love to travel, so this ones a keeper!

I work as a Purchasing Agent for a major food testing lab. 

I love my job. I work around some great folks and I always get a heads up about recalls.

I hate the fact that I can't talk about the recalls. I can't imagine knocking the spiral cut ham out of my mother's hand because I knew that there were harmful pathogens present. Besides, she would kick my arse and make me rinse and reheat!

I am a Hospital Administrator in the most politically driven healthcare organization ever!

I like that they think I'm a genius because I know how to use the computer to my advantage and NEVER delete any emails or throw away any correspondence.  Don't ever try to lie on me because I will pull up an email from 1996 on ya ass!  

I have a pretty good Bull**** filter so that helps in the day-to-day backstabbing - throw you under the bus - blindside you - flat out lie on you then say you didn't - type of behavior that is commonplace up in this unorganized organization.  

I get pissed off on a daily basis so there's too many stories to tell.

I like it because my immediate manager is another location,  city !   He is cool, however.
I like the freedom in choosing my hours, etc.

Sometime the deadlines and pressures of having everything done yesterday is stressful !
However,  it is not like that most of the year.

 I'm a phlebotomist

 I love love love what I do I get to meet new people everyday and most of my coworkers are my closest friends. Happy hours isn't the same without them

I must admit I hate when donors are talkative when I'm not in the mood to talk. And the old nurses drive me a little nuts too

What do I do for a living?

attorney for legal aid - I represent parents who have children in the dependency system, disabled folks seeking social security disability/ssi appeals, represent clients in unemployment compensation referee hearings and folks having general problems with the welfare office.

What do you like about it?

I love my work. Its real do-gooder law.  I enjoy helping people walk through systems - like child welfare - that can be hostile to parents at times.  I enjoy helping folks get benefits they are entitled to.

What ****** me off?

the perception that if you practice law helping poor folks - then somehow you aren't a "real lawyer" -
dumb bureaucratic rules that hurt people in need.

You do a lot of good for a lot of folks.  We need more people out here like you.  Keep up the good work.
