So, It is 12:29 am here waaaaaay past my 8:30 or 9:00 bedtime.  I needed a shower so I decide I can do it myself although I have not been able to physically do it myself.  But, I have had a tugging pain in my navel all day and figured what the hell.  wa**** and be done.

I am home alone angry pissed off and in pain so anything I state hereafter may be jaded.

The problem seems that my belly button is inflamed and oozing.  I decide I can change the dressing.  I am NOT qualified medical personnel.  I did it anyway and I think I did it right and I think I look like **** and I am angry!!!!!  I have no clue what I did that it is leaking or what I did that it is all crusty and funky and ewwwwww.  But, Did I mention I look like **** 

Yes, I look hideous and I am trying to hold on to reality long enough to lay down and go to sleep.  I didn't hurt until I took off the binder and stood in front of the mirror and changed the dressing.  I will add that yes I of course video taped this episode and took pictures because I wanted to remember what an ass I was for not taking it easy and not just accepting help.

OK thank you so much for reading this crap.  I am going to go to bed and I will sleep minus a binder so that this thing airs out and if anyone cares to see the video is attached but after my sister sees it I will be deleting them tomorrow.

You must have already deleted the video- I hope you called your Dr and mentioned the navel oozing and being foul smelling.  It sounds like you might have an infection brewing.  Hopefullly you were on some antibiotics post op. 

If you haven't already please, please notify your Dr.

No I didn't she is on EST time so I will wait since she was nice enough to talk me from the "ledge" I am feeling worlds better and I do have topical antibiotic that I used I just needed some rest and to try to act like a normal person.

Ok Maxine- I am a nurse and maybe I'm a little jaded but really the belly button doesn't look all that bad to me.  Granted I am not there and don't know if there is a foul smelling odor or not, but I was expecting oozing pus to shoot out at the cmaera and your belly button to look necrotic. 

Really it looks pretty good, and you did a good job cleaning and redressing the wound.  I hope you got some rest.  Now get your binder back on and go sit your ass down somewhere so your body can heal!

Can't say how much your response meant it was basically reitterating what my sis told me but, thank you and I have really taken it easy.  Back tot he couch I go to play with my PSP.

Well we don't have ERs in the same since as in the states.  I would not go there with soemone else's body already in the bag.  The good thing is after some rest and speaking with my sister who is a nurse I do feel worlds better.  I just needed to take my crazy paranoid self to bed.  Today I swear I am feeling great and ready to take on the couch or well a lot less than yesterday.

Ummmmm yeah sorry....but I do love me some horse meat and it gets me nearly twice the iron that seak does so please don't think my little pony...it is more like Mr Ed and thanks for the laugh.
