Waiting is causing me to weight (pun intended)

I am waiting on my approval for weight loss surgery. I still have not physically spoken with the surgeon but I have had all the extras done already by his staff (weigh in, nutrition stuff, psych exam).  I am ready to get this lap band done! I am the largest and weigh more than I have ever weighed!!!  But while I am waiting, I do want to exercise and get in some form of shape just in case it is a no go. Can't take being a lard ass much longer and I am used to being very active (weight prohibiting that at the moment due to feet sweeling).

Can anyone tell me, do they weigh you again? Or is the first weight they record the weight they submit?  I don't want to lose the weight and be below the 40 BMI so then I have to catch the black plague, find out who killed Tupac AND Biggie, in additon to solving the world's energy crisis in order to get the lap band done.  On the same token, I don't want to gain not ne're anutha pound!  Yeah, you read it correctly.  NOT NE'RE ANUTHA POUND!!!!

Hi AJ,
I think that that depends on your insurance.  The question that I should ask is did you have a waiting period.  I had to wait 6 months before my request was even submitted to the insurance.  Therefore I was weighed on a monthly basis.
If you package was submitted to the insurance already then I don't think that they will be submitting your weight change to the insurance co. again.   However, if you dip below the BMI for wls there may no longer be a need for wls according to their standards.

I agree with the other posters.  Different things apply to different doctors and insurance. In my case once the paperwork was submitted that is what the company went by.  However, I did have to do a couple of weigh-ins with my surgeon's office.   I pray all works out for you.

My first visit to the surgeon's office included my first weigh-in. This was the official weight that was submitted to my insurance company. I had to complete a six month program and my last weight was submitted again to my insurance company along with all of the notes from my surgeon's office.

Dr. Tribble office weighs you each time you go in.The purpose of this I am not sure but I didn't do a thing as far as losing weight until I got my approval which only took 2 days once they submitted it. If you have done all the classes for the nutritionist  the lab work and psych test then you are moving fast the office must not be as busy because normally that takes a few weeks. They normally don't submit the information to the insurance company for the surgery approval until you have seen the Dr. First. When will you see Dr. Tribble? You can call and ask them what you are waiting for?

Thanks everyone!  I had done the 6mnths Physician weight loss program prior.  I am really not liking this sit and weight in my stew crappolla (lol). This is teaching me patience!

I don't know why I did not ask you TBines since u are familiar with the surgeon. I do need to call them and ask what else is needed for me to move forward.  When I did the psych exam they didnt say anything else.  Stuck wrote me a Rx to get the upper GI.  I asked the chic up front if I am to call or go somewhere on my own to get this done or what?  She says that they will call me (the point of writing me the Rx then?).  So why have they not called?  It has been a week plus.  There are some newbies there (from what I was overhearing) and I don't want to slip through those cracks.  I want to do all I can while I have the time off to do it.  *le sigh*.  But I DESPERATELY want to drop atleast 10lbs! lol   I am not used to being so sedentary.
