Just got caught up on my Tyra shows, why are we still tripping on GOOD/BAD hair
Funny, this chick said to me..Do you have a texturizer and I was like NO, why? and she said bc your hair is so curly, you got hair for a dark skin girl...I was shocked and could not believe what she had the nerve to fix her mouth and say to me that I asked her to repeat herslf and her ignorant ass said, Well...I never met a dark skin girl with such curly hair without it being a texurizer or Jherri-curl(first I didn't even think they still had the jherri-curl). So, I just looked at her and said ALL people of color have naturally curly/kinky hair...we are unique and have many varities of curl patterns but most of us are brainwashed not to embrace our natural and think we need to have straight hair for it to be nice(she pissed me off, this is slave mentality to me) U know what this heffer said?..nah not me my naps stand on top of my head and I am way lighter than you, u should have my hair and me yours...I asked if she was serious..and asked well, your genetic makeup and mine are different..skin complexion does not dictate hair texture...When will we EVER learn. To answer your question..NO it will always be an issue as long as we keep a small mind mentality...There is no such thing as Good/Bad Hair!!!!!

V'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
We (Black community) are our worst enemies. Its funny because I just posted a discussion on FB a week ago about the same topic. I get so sick and tired of people saying he/she has "good" hair WTF and "bad" hair = nappy and kinky (Oh f--king please). I love the different texture of hair black folks have. Good hair to me is thick, shiny, and healthy! Plain and simple.
I think it will always be an issue in our (the Black) community. So will light skin vs dark skin and light colored eyes vs dark colored eyes and wide flatter nose vs pointy nose and full lips vs thin lips. I think it's stupid and shameful to admit we discriminate within our own community.

Girl, I changed colors too..when I was little I was a Caramel color and people use to always say dumb ****and I am Dark Chocolate now...BUT I am allergic to the sun so that explains why my complexion has changed..but still...That is all the beauty of being a person of color.
