Hey all I was at the gym the other day....

and as usual I was kinda watching people working out......listening to my music,  watching images on the elevated television monitors trying to read lips and just basically doing anything to distract the my mimd off  the fact that I was working out.....

When I saw the strangest  thing.......the lady that was working out on the treadmill infront of me had just ended her workout and was being cautious which I usually  do so I dont fall and trip. No big deal there.....

But when I looked at her whole body.  I noticed a huge belly.......no not from fat.......there was a full fledged baby in that bad boy.  Not a cute little baby bump either.  That belly was big enough for it to look like  she could actually go into labor in the locker room. And the baby would come out and ask us all "  what we were staring at  " just as soon as he escaped the birth canal.

The most activity I did when  I was pregnant was going back and forth to the kitchen to get more chips ahoy  and a little sex from time to time.  Boy have times changed

What do you think ?   Should folks be allowed to use the gym  so far along in the pregnancy ???

I quit the day I found out I was pregnant and never went back to it. 82 pregnancy pounds later and found another 40 along the way before my choke chain.  I know that I would have never been banded if I would have kept up the exercise routine I had pre-pregnancy. I still don't exercise regularly or even semi-regularly which is probably why unless I find someone to kick my azz to a treadmill on a regular basis I will never hit goal let alone pre-pregnancy weight.

300 extra calories is all it takes to make a baby and women that exercise have far easiser labors & recovery--so I say yes!!!

Very true...i've given birth to five children, all natural child-birth...i've never spent much time in the delivery room....

Wow just an extra 300 calories......I never even thought about that.......but it makes pretty good darn sense to me.

I was just 21 when I had my daughter and was so silly nilly over her dad,  I never even considered my health or  any of that stuff.  Too busy concerned about his where abouts.

I was just so taken aback by the fact of seeing the lady there so far along....bet that  little bundle is  probably gonna slide out of her with ease........

Pregnancy is just an awesome time for a woman.....if done right and you have support around

Thanks for the info !

a lot of women workout throughout their pregnacies..i personally worked out with my first three children...it was with child number four i got lazy..sigh...which is also when i started to gain weight..till that point i was still around 165-175 and could wear a two pc nicely.....secondly dr's actually recommend exercise..(within resonable limits of course)

Actually a fit mom that that has exercised throughout her prgnancy is thought to be able to have an easier labor and birth than an unfit mother.  At least thats what I remember from my OB rotation- I am SO not a labor/delivery nurse. Ewww.

I used to watch TLC just to see the act of birth.....its amazing to watch.

But I must admit I'm a squeemer  the whole time.

I think nursing is a wonderful field...have such respect for them

I did a lot of exercise - pushed my daughter out in three pushes, would have only been two but they didn't realize who they was messin with - thought the fat meant wasn't any MUSCLE in there...... I did the second one and they said WAIT - we gotta get the doctor.

i was all pissed and said WHY YOU HAVE ME START IF YOU WASN'T READY????
