Morning Yall
I ran this morning with a horrible back ache, when I started running I could barely stand up straight the spasms were so horrible.
I started thinking about this one Christmas when I was really big and wanted to go shopping, I drove to target got out of the car barely made it to the front of the store because my back was so messed up and when I got to the door I was in such pain I had to sit there and call someone to come and pick me up. That thought not the pain made me cry this morning and it also made me keep running.
Many days I could not stand for more than a minute or two. I could barely walk from the car to a elevator. I always had to have Becca go in the store and get the wheel chairl. Man I hated those days.
Anyway I did my morning run, I will run again tonight and I will be done for the day.
Hope you guys had a good run

Wow! I peeped at a few of your pictures a while ago and it is amazing the think you were once in a wheelchair! What progress you have made!
Your story brought back a memory for me...
I had back trouble only once in my life for a few months when I was packing on the pounds. My lower back would scream the longer I stood, no matter where I was. This became really hard in church.
Once in a prayer circle on one of those days where the prayers were long, I had to sit down. My back was hurting so bad. I stood as long as I could bear it. Tears were actually coming it hurt so bad. When I sat, my closest friends were offended that I was sitting and saying all sorts of stuff to make me get up. I cried and cried. I NEVER want to fell that pain again, especially because I could not put that fork down!
Talk about motivation! Thanks for helping me to remember how far I have come and that it is up to ME to not go back there!
Completed week 3 day 2 this morning. No aches or pains. I am truly running for my life!
P.S. Yesterday I realized that I need to work out more so on my day off of couch25k, I walked for 45 minutes and I walked up 8 flights of stairs. Sit WAY TOO much at work!
That was you again inspiring me to move everyday, not just 3 days a week in the program.

It is amazing how much weight plays a part in back pain isn't it.
I have this adema crap which sometimes builds up a lot of fluid in my body like right now and it builds up in my back and causes me horrible pain especially during that time of the month.
I have to say the back pain I get now is nothing compared to back then when it hurt 24/7.

Hi Lee,
I have officially started week 2 and you were right............just keep it moving. Funny thing is........it wasn't so bad. I made it through. I plan to do it again today and then on Friday. I'm so excited!
My husband and I did the walk this past weekend and they had ambulances/ golf carts to take folks back. This one lady was really over weight and they had to come back and pick her up. Every time a golf cart went by it had some overly obese person on it cause they couldn't make it. I felt so bad for them; my heart went out. I had to also thank God it wasn't me because it would've been. I'm so glad i decided to do something about this weight.
Have a great day!

It is soooooo easier running on the treadmill than outside. On the treadmill I can run over a mile straight....outside, not so much. I didn't even know I was running so little before I got the Nike+. I love it. Last night I did 3 miles at the park by my house and today I did 3 miles on my lunch break. I got the bubble guts halfway through my run.....not a good look lol. I kept getting so winded running today. I went back to my Suz podcasts. I had week 6 in my Ipod so I did that.

You are so right, It is so so much harder running outside. I am doing Suz podcasts outside also because I need the music to keep me going outside. Inside I am on week 4 of the 8K and I am rocking that sucka.
Also running outside is really hard on my knees so I can't wait until I am able to run outside what I can run inside but it's not a goal of mine or anything just want to be able to do it.
Shani that Nike + is great. I am really happy I got it cause the feedback is invaluable. Do you upload your workouts to the website. I like mine on there cause I can look at my progress on a chart and I like seeing how far i've come.

Yup I used the Nike+ for the first time yesterday and I uploaded it to the site. I'm starting a challenge on Sat with my sister and a few of thier friends. First one to 50 miles. I have more time on my hands so I think I might just win!!! She did this challenge instead a speed one cause I couldn't participate in that kind of challenge yet.
I think I might conitinue on with the Couch 2 5k outside and finish the nine weeks and look into the gateway to 8k for inside. Does the 8k have spoken cues of is it just beats?

I am on week nine (9) but not really following the program. I am just running and making sure I complete my 3.1 miles. I am working on my speed and posture as well. I have less than 2 weeks before my 1st event and I am getting anxious about it. Although I am able to do the full 3 miles now, I keep having thoughts that I wont be able to complete the 3 miles at the event. I will let you know how the event goes. I will also try to get my picture taken at the vent. I am not sure if my family will be there as my son's may have soccer games that morning.
They say running outside is harder but I find it easier than the treadmill. Maybe its becuase I can extend my stride further and my big feet are not hitting up againts the front of the treadmill. I also enjoy the cool breeze blowng into my face. I enjoy completing my run every night but I am still looking to get that runners high. Someone said it comes with running very long distances. I guess 3 miles is not long enough.

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!
