My 'Beloved' Belly......

Ok....so I haven't had the RNY yet, but I'm clearly on the road....left at Gastric Bypass lane.
So, I was talking to my mom about the surgery.  She is one of my biggest supporters, BTW.
We got on the topic of plastic surgery after the WLS.  I have a nice sized belly
(Friends Can see Pics in My Just Keepin It Real Photo Album) It's not huge, but I did carry 2 healthy children in it.

So I was wondering....how much excess skin am I gonna have after all is said and done.  I have great genetics from my mothers side. I'm young(27), and plan on joining a gym after the WLS.  Is it generally alot of skin? I mean it's not HUGE, but it is big. I'm wondering if I'm going to need cosmetic surgery? Will what I'm left with after WLS be tolerable. I think plastic surgery is obviously an option, but isn't really in my budget. It's a recession out here, LOL. I know that it depends on the person, but I was just wondering what other peoples experiences were....

Thanks All-

Lisa

Hi Lisa

Everyone is different and there isn't a sure way to gauge by other's experiences what your results will be.  I do suggest, however, that you drink lots of water and exercise as they both will aide in toning the skin during your honeymoon phase of rapid weight loss.  Actually, start this regimen NOW. Your age and good genetics will definitely work to your favor.

Best of luck to you on your journey!!
