New Post-op Tip of The Day

Today's tip is to add food back slowly and one at a time. Our taste bud's do change and our body's response to certain foods change also. Many people become lactose intolerant so soy milk is a good alternative. Some people can't tolerate beef at 6 weeks out but at 4 months out it's no problem or unfortunately you may never tolerate it. I would never introduce more than 1 new food in a day at first so if something didn't agree with me, I could pinpoint what the culprit was. There are foods that I loved before surgery and never crave now ,and others that I didn't like before surgery that I love now. This is truly a journey and a ride of a lifetime and you should take each day slowly and  hold on tight.

I'm not lactose intolerant so far....I still haven't tried soy milk though.  I just can't wrap my head around it right now.  I haven't liked any other soy products that I've tried.
