WHY

How was your weekend w/your Mamma?? You were super sweet...right?!?!?! 

Yesss I promise I was!!!! And I even worked on a back up plan but you know what she said something that made me think???

She said when she was going through her process(she had her's in 07) I didn't support her at first  and I have to admit I was like that at first because I was soooo scared because that my Momma!!! But you better believe I was holding her hand until they took her back and made sure my son's voice was the first thing she heard after recovery!!!

Change your title to non supporive folks or something like that. 

I feel you though,  I know many people who didn't get support but luckily I had such jacked up health my moma was happy I was doing it, scared but happy.

Go back and click on your original post to open and read it - then hit the 'Edit' button at the bottom - it'll be in the same row as what you usually see to hit 'reply' - you can change the title then. 

I LEARNED TO PICK  MY FIGHT THIS IS NOT A BLACK THING ITS A WEIGHT THING  I LEARNED EARLY WHY TELL SOMEONEWHO HAS NEVER BEEN OBESE OR SOME WHO OBTAINS  SECON HAND  IMFORMATIO ABOUT  THIS SURG .    THEY   DONOT   UNDERSTANDV FOR EXAMPLE    I TOLD MY HUSBAND I WAS GOING TO SCHOOL TO LEARN HOW TO EAT TO GET RID OF MY FEMALE PROBLEMS AND COINTROL SOME OF MY MEDICAL CONDITIONS IRECIEVED BETTER TREATMENT THAN WHEN WE FIRST FELL IN LOVE  HE DROVE ME FOR 2MONTHS   HE CLEAN HOUSE  AND THIS IS THE  FIRST  WEEK   HE HAS  NOT COOK AND I MARRIED A COUNTRY BOY 7YRS YOUNGER THAN ME  THE REST OF THE PEOPLE I LET  THEM SEE THE WT FALLOFF    AND IF THE  Y  ASK IGIVE  THEM  MY SEMINAR PAPERS    BECAUSE  THEY KNOW I LIKE FIRST HAND INFORMATION

i have said it over and over again. choose  who you allow to share your journey with carefully. I found that telling only my parents, brothers and sisters and 1 friend was the best thing i ever did for myself. People will never be as happy for you as you are for yourself. surround yourself with positive thinking people who truly have your back. For instance I found that other than my parents, BAF and OH was my greatest support and still is... Just my 2cents!!!!

Because the media mostly shows the negative aspects of WLS.  The people that do not investigate the positives side of WLS can only form a negative opinion which makes them unsupportive.  That is why it is good that you found this support forum so that you can communicate with people that have had WLS and can give you a more knowlegable view of this subject.

I know what you mean and I'm not offended. 

I know all about how some black folks can be so damn negative.  That's exactly why I haven't told any of my family members because I don't need any negativity from them.  I know how they can be because I have a cousin who had WLS and they was nothing but negative.

Side Note: Of course I'm not saying negativity is exclusive to black folks either so don't start!

Sometime support is hard to come by even when you tell just a few people.  Yes, God is our best bet. And BAF will help walk you thru a lot of things. I haven't been posting much but been
having more time to just read mostly. I am my on support and have to get back on the wagon yet again. Still rocking several lbs. but not going forward.  HOME HEALTH CARE IS KILLING ME.
