Why is it when you share with your friends and family that you are going to have the RNY you get no support??? I am all excited because I have dates to meet the surgeon and dietitian this week. Is it just me I mean I weigh 300 pound I have prayed about this thing and I feel it would be really beneficial to me and my health. I know my family and friends love me and they are only concerned but dang can a sista get a lil support.!!!

So sorry you aren't getting support from family and friends...BUT....this doesn't just happen with Black folks.

Chile.... over here getting nervous and excited and apprehensive and worried all at the same time! Two weeks and 2 days before this surgery - I'm going to be a ball of nerves the morning of. My official pre-op appt is thursday morning - so look for many a post from yours truly after that - yall are going to be my 'free therapy'. LOL!!!

Awww see - you had this post titled all promising and whatnot - you just got a regular ole problem here! LOL - this is not specific to black folk!

You will find your family and friends will be split in their support or non support of you - it's up to YOU to create and nuture your support in this - don't look to or NEED another mofo - cause they WILL let you down!!!
