IM TRYING TO UNDERSTAND
Found this quip on another OH forum...
Our bodies have an amazing way of compensating over the long term. My doc mentioned that the "villi" (tiny hair like things that line the intestine and reach out and absorb stuff) grow back in larger numbers to compensate for the villi that were removed via the portion of the intestine that was removed. So, the body learns to compensate.
So...in essence, in the beginning there are no villi and weight loss is rapid, but once you start to compensate and they regrow, they absorb more of the nutrients and weight loss can stall and possibly stop.

Hey Nas !
Congrats on losing 30 lbs so far...you are doing great
I think the malabsorption of the RNY procedure is the reason....no matter what you eat
your body is NOT retaining all of the nutrients. That compounded with your calories being drastically reduced make it inevitable to lose weight rapidly.
Wishing you well !
In life, and especially on this journey there are sure to be days when you falter and give in.......just remember to never give up.
