Rant and Rave Board is NOT for everybody!!! Newbie Alert
You got what anyone would have got when they attack a whole group of people based on the actions of a few. There are many DSers who hang out on the rants and raves board and you offended many of them. You didn't understand the DS procedure very well and were spewing false information. I remember this well. The DSers and even some RNYers are adamant about correcting false information. You shouldnt expect to be able to post biased misinformation and not get called on it. Whatever you may think, you did yourself a real misservice by ignoring the responses and refusing to hear what people who have had th DS had to say. To me, that is the height of ignorance. Those people tried unsuccessfully to educate you about a procedure you didn't understand. It is your loss that you refused to hear them. You can rewite history if you want but I was there and I saw exactly what happened.
Also, the rules and guidelines for the R&R board are posted at the top of the board. People could save themselves a lot of grief by reading them before joining in.

I'm glad you warned the Newbies on THIS Board, because so often some of the attacks on other Boards are racially related even though most white people will defend them to the death. It's the terms in which they communicate, they don't even GET what is offensive. Then some "Kneegrow" will give their opinion (actually supporting) the racial slur or il-defined expression, and that is even worse because the offender gets the WRONG feedback, because most Black people would not take the comment that way and they will keep doing it/keep offending. It is Best that you gave the warning. Our people who are vernarble at this time don't need that in their lives and so many are young also. That is one reason that OH allowed this Board to be set-up, they understand the necessity that "minorities" not be exposed to the bad will of some of the "majority." That we need a place of security for self expression and won't be badgered for ideas and cultural expressions that we have in common. We don't need to conform or explain ourselves in order to be accepted.
I also have other rules for Internet Socializing on Message Boards:
(1) Messages from Threads and Posts Do NOT come to My email (I go back to the Thread/Post and read what I choose), usually when I Post Once, I am DONE with reading the Thread;
(2) I Respond ONLY to whom I Choose (I have found that Most Offensive People want to keep the conversation going); their dysfunction tells them that it is important that they APPEAR right by having the last word);
(3) If I choose to respond at all, the Maximum I will respond to a Negative Person/Post/Thread is Twice;
(4) If I am wrong about Facts I will admit it, but NO ONE can tell Me how to FEEL;
(5) I don't try to change how someone else FEELS, or their Preceptions by what I write - often perceptions are systemic which means that something that is written will have to cause a paradigm shift to be effective, and that ain't happening for the most part in a hostile enviroment; most people are on the attack and responding emotionally and trying to "hurt";
(6) I have a high tolerance and tough skin for IGNORANCE because I supervise People. So if a person is "sensitive" they should only go into Threads/Posts that are "Friendly" or "Supportive" or of a "Good Report". Places like R&R Board are NOT good for the Spirit or Soul...It's a Toxic Place and no matter how people try to defend it, they know it is Toxic, and most people who languish there are probably on meds or really dysfunctional.

but I would NEVER jump on a newbie for belittling a certain surgery type..but perhaps it was the PERSON of whom you were F@(k'n with....and that person was a friend of mine...then yep, I'm jump'n with stiletto heels and all ~ on ya!!
I am the rare form of a RNY surgery and my intestines turned into a DS surgery...So I have the tiny RNY tummy with DS innards...so I am very fond of both/either surgery.

Middle Man----> That's just not fair that you talk about posters on R&R like that.. You don't even know me and I don't think I am sick of disgusted and I am surely not miserable. I do believe in God and I am proud of it.
Everyone there has their own personality and I am sure that everyone on the BAF does too.
A Rave can be about something that you are happy about.
We share our experiences, its not all a negative thing. We do have a lot of trolls who try to cause discord.
My "rave" for today is that we have Obesity help message boards.

I definitely dont believe in god but
1. I dont always rant and rave, but I do have my moments and take em when I need em.
and
2. I always know why I am ranting and raving and there is no wonder about it at all.
You should watch those assumptions, they tend to be wrong more often than right.

Here is the thread in case newbies wants to lurk at this poor soul's experience. That board is NOT for the faint of heart. So I am only posting this here as a warning....some of the folks over there are as crazy as hell! BEWARE!
