I love the glares I get from haters! I am about the same in my office, only those on a need-to-know basis have been informed... don't need to be the spokesperson, cuz I got work to do.

Unfortunately, I am a loud chic.. voice is heavy and whispering isn't my forte - if I did, you can't hear me @ all.  So one co-worker overheard me and another one talking.  So the one that knows (she had it) was talking about it, so I shushed her.  Ole girl said I already know.  Heard y'all loudmouths.  Then she said why you gonna do that - why don't you try to diet & ex-cut the tramp off.  Mind you this heffa's bigger than me.. we're cool, and I know she's not the gossip type... but that's the reason I wasn't going to tell anyone until after. Then she was like well, if that's your thing...

6 co-workers know. I have no fam here, 2's helping me out @ the hospital, etc. I told who I know wouldn't be judgemental and would give me support. My boss doesn't even know (though his boss does -we both agree ole boy loves to gossip and talk behind people's backs).

I don't care who knows AFTER, I'm just not for hearing that mess about why, so and so cousin died ,etc.  Why does it matter to you?  I'm the one getting cut, not you. How ya love dat???
I have an @$$h*le, therefore I have an opinion. or two... or forty.

I completely feel you. It wasn't even my friend saying anything. I work with ALL WOMEN and my friend at another site tells me my coworker was telling an ex-coworker that I had surgery and then when I got back to work after the surgery people I never mentioned anything to ask me how much weight I've lost. I guess that comes with working with all women, but dang can I have some business?

I know exactly how you feel.  I just went through this about a month ago.  My cousin felt like it was her business to tell her 2 overweight friends that I had wls.   I found out when I told her that I think the only person who I confided in at work told people, this heffer says well I told so-n-so.  I was pissed.  I hang out with these chicks through her on occassion, but of course this conversation never took place while I was around. Nor have they ever asked me any questions or anything which tells me that it was gossip type thing.

Now they look at me funny.

See that's why I didn't tell anybody except my husband my son.  If I tell my mother, I MIGHT AS WELL BROADCAST IT ON THE NEWS!  She tell so many people's business that she can't keep up with her own mess.

She's also a big time hater so when she sees me she's gonna launch into one of her "investigations".  I'm just gonna let her drive her own self crazy.

Maybe it's just me but I didn't and don't have a problem disclosing that I had WLS, or if others have beat me to it.  I have been open about it from day one, and it has actually been beneficial because I have been able to help others that were interested or had recently undergone the surgery.
I truly do believe we go thru things to help others.
But congrats on everyone's success, and to each it's own.

I have to agree I was up front with everyone when I got my GBS, you have people who are really happy for you then you have the ones that smile in your face and talk smack about you when your not around.I'm truely happy that I went through with it.
