Protein Shock

Hello everyone, Just looking for a little help I have to choose a protein suplement for my pre- op diet, and apparently for the rest of my life. Are there any out there that don't taste like liquid crap. I would prefer anything that wasn't "milkshake" consistancy. Any Ideas or places to find would help, oh yeah  and anything that's not a thousand dollars at bottle!!
Love, Jen

I haven't found any protien drinks that taste great, but I use Super Advanced Whey Protien.  You can get a big container at Walmart for like 12 or 13 bucks and you can mix it with whatever your favorite drink is and it doesn't have to be milk.  I use my magic bullet and mix a little fruit or yogurt with some ice and make a smoothy, or I'll use SF koolaid or crystal light, just as long as I use my magic bullet it tastes good and it really blends the protien to a consitency that takes the chalkiness out.

Meekie,
is this a powder or in cans (ready to drink)?  If a powder, what do you mix yours with?  I'm asking because in four years of post-op living, I have tried many protein drinks and bars and I have read many post about protein BUT it is really to hear someone say it's "actually delish!!!!!".  Tell me more.

Theres so many kinds of shakes and drinks. I went on vitalady.com and ordered a whole bunch of samples. Or you can go to the Vitamin shoppe and if you don;t like it you can exchange it, with a receipt. Right now I'm loving the Syntrax Nectar Caribbean cooler or Strawberry kiwi plus yogurt, frozen strawberries and sometimes a couple of cubes of frozen mango. Real good

I also like my Protien Frappachino. Vanilla or choc protien (I get the kind from Walmart, I think it's Body Fortress or something like that), 4 oz water, 4 oz of half and half (but you can use FFmilk, soymilk, 2% or whatever), tsp instant coffee, and Tbsp SF caramel syrup, ice. Good!

Your best bet is to start off with samples, because your taste and tolerance will change after surgery what you like today you may not tomorrow. I like mostly all the Nectar products Twisted Cherry, Fuzzy Naval and Caribbean Cooler  and with a basic vanilla protein powder you can edit to your taste by adding things fruit, sf flavoring, drink mixes etc.....

a few sample web sites:

Unjury.com
Vitalady.com
I by my syntrex nectar from my surgeons office Barix and Cheap Vitamins .com. Good Luck on your journey!
