New Post-op Tip of The Day
First let me say that I'm sorry for not addressing people with the lap-band, ds,vsg and whatever surgery I left out. My experience is with the RNY because that is what I had and that is what I'm living. I welcome anyone with those other surgeries to post their tips also.
Today's tip is dealing with a finicky pouch. Some people from day 1 have a pouch that acts a fool with the least little change and they end up eating about 5 different foods for a loooooooong time. Then there are others that from day 1 have an iron pouch and can tolerate anything.
There's a little bit of hatin' from each group because the people whose pouch won't let them eat anything without repercussions wish that they could eat like the iron pouch group. However, the iron pouch group realizes because they can eat anything they haven't changed their eating habits and the weight is not coming off like it should and they wish that they had the finicky pouch of the other group.
Whatever group you belong to, remember that making the right choices is what pays off in the long run. My experience has been that one day my pouch says yummy to something and the very next day the same food would make my pouch act a fool. There is nothing %100 with this except that if you don't follow the guidelines you can gain the weight back after the honeymoon period. Show love to your pouch and respect it.

You ain't got to address the "other" people. Just kidding
I'm still trying to learn my pouch. Everyday I try something different and wait a few minutes to see if it's gonna stay down. If not, ok I just scratch that off my list. If it stays, I do a victory dance.
My son is so worried every time I take a bite of something. He's always says "Mom, are you ok?" He really will sit there until I give him the thumbs up or I run to bathroom.
If I start burping, then oh shizzle. I know it won't be long before I do the poke and choke.
