When did you guys start buying smaller clothes?

I've lost about 45 pounds since I started this whole process last year but I still haven't bought any new clothes.  Well, I bought some capris from Walmart (yes, I'm cheap).  Why did I buy a size 24?  My mind has not allowed me to think in smaller sizes yet.

Other people seem to notice my weight loss but I don't really see it that much.

When did you guys start buying smaller clothes?

I don’t think that I bought new cloths until 2 or 3 months out I was trying to hold on to every last piece of clothing until it ridiculously too big.  Surprisingly enough I loved my cloths and didn’t want to let go.

I held on to my clothes until the last moment.  But then about 4 mths out the weight starting fallllling off.  I had to break down and buy clothes.  My advice when the weight comes off really quick is to bargain shop.  Clearance will be your best friend. I also checked consignment shops because you go through sizes so quickly a lot of the clothes you buy during the process will end up inthe back of the closet.

I went shopping initally in my closet for my size 18's but  I think I'm a rare bird that I pretty much began shopping almost immediately and shopped through every stage (of course not full wardrobes but adding pieces)

I didn't buy anything until my old clothes starting falling off me and then I went to the thirft store because it was cheaper  and being you going to be steady loosing I didn't want to buy anything expensive  and I couldn't wear it in a couple of months , I do buy things smaller so I can keep myself motivated to get in it

I started out a size 28.  When I got to size 24, I started shopping clearance racks.  I'm now a size 20 and I still wear some of my old 26 blouses.  None of the slacks and crops fit anymore.  I bought some Right Size jeans from Lane Bryant, but now those are getting sloppy looking.  And get this, they don't have my size in petite length!  If I was still a 26, or 6P, there is plenty to choose from.  So, I am at this weird in between size now.  Like I can find stuff at Dillard's and Penney's, but I don't want to pay that much since I am still going down.  I was big for so long, that I had a closet full of fabulous big girl clothes.  I am feeling kind of funny at work now.  I used to rock really nice stuff.  I was probably over compensating for being overweight.  But lately, I feel a hot mess!

So, now I am 4 months out and I recently bought some summer dresses and crops.  Not  a lot though.

I am losing weight in my feet also.  I have been giving shoes away left and right.

I haven't yet, just some t-shirts that were 5 for 20.  I need to though, I no longer have jeans that fit.  I live for jeans.

Almost right away.  Definetly within the first month.  Almost nothing pre surgery still fits.

I'm loosing inches faster than pounds so at almost 3 months out I've changed sizes for the third time.  At 3-4 weeks I went from 18W to 14W then 14misses/petite and now I'm in the 12misses/petite as of last week.

I've always only shopped clearence because I'm that cheap.  I want Liz Claiborne at Walmart prices.

I buy only basics 1 neutral skirt, 2 neutral pants and a pair of jeans.  Tops are more flexible so I've bought 2 sweaters and about 4 blouses.  As tops get big I wear an adjustable strap camisole underneath and let the lace show.

I need to come down to at least a 10 to hit the really good thrift stores.  It will be all 2nd hand till goal once I can shop at the better thrift  shops.

I purchased clothes about one month after surgery. I'm a Goodwill/Salvation shopper but I will hit up a clearance for new items on occasion. Smaller sizes = cheaper prices and I'm loving it!
