Is it ever to late ?
Is it ever to late to use your tool? I read a lot about wls since my journey and some people are still not at goal two years out. When are you really on your own and your tool is not helping you?I understand the who honeymoon period butis it true your wls does not help after two years. This is something I am a little concerned about.
You've missed all the posting that the vets have done about their recent issues and the challenge we are on until Labor Day, haven't you?
**warning: VERY snide remarks coming.....**
Every tool comes with an expiration date - the day you stop paying attention to what you eat, stop exercising the way you should and you stop doing all the things that made you sucessful in the beginning - THAT'S when it stops working.

There is an 18-24 month window for optimal (i.e. easier) weightloss with malabsorptive surgeries because after that point the villi in the small intestine start to re-grow causing you to absorb more food.
That being said, if you continue to eat small portions, the right foods and exercise there is no expiration--
Banded/Sleeve patients are not on that window since we have no malabsorption so we lose slower (normally).
At 5 years out, all surgeries with proper working by the tool owner should be at an equal position.

Haven't been on the BAF long so I missed that challenge thread. (Yeah I know, six years on OH and I should be ashamed for not finding the BAF any sooner.)
Would someone tell me about when it was posted so I can read it please? I'd be much obliged. Thanks.
