Cookie,

I was at the nutritional shop the other day and started to buy some flaxseed....but I saw too many varieties and forms (oil, seeds, pills) to make up my mine. What form do you use...and what do you see as the main benefits...I read a few bottles...but just was not sure.  I brought me one of those vitamin organizers so that I can put them in my purse. I am making more of an effort to be more consistent with my vitamins. Thanks for the info. L

I only use ground flaxseed.  There are tons of benefits of flaxseed, but I use it to combat constipation.  Being that I take a lot of iron, I need this benefit.

See now...I knew there was a good reason for asking....I did not read anything about it helping with constipation on the bottles!  Thanks so much....I need this benefit too....my hemorrhoids have been flaring up like crazy because of my constipation...I have been trying to eat as much green leafy vegetable to combat it....this will help too. (I apologize if TMI) Thanks!

Coming out of lurkdom! I know this was answered but... it is best to buy whole flax and grind them yourself (like in a coffee grinder or something).  Flax goes rancid quickly and it will stay fresh longer this way.  You should also store it in the fridge.

You should come out of lurkdom more often.  I actually have mine grinded (is that a word?) at the health food store.

Nice to meet you.

The word is ground! But I am an editor so it comes with the territory!!

Nice to meet you to... I am fresh off the table - 3 weeks out and cannot wait to move on with some good food!

I am really interested in seeing what/how much people eat at different stages.  You seem to be one great success story!

About 16 crunchy cheetos and a diet ice tea.  I'll rebound at lunchtime.
