Is it a sin to be overweight?
Funny, I had the same debate on Facebook this morning. The sin is not the weight, but in gluttony. People tend to look at us large folk, and assume that we're either headed to or coming from the "buffet line."
I don't get mad, I try to educate. They are unaware of the many, many other conditions that don't involve food, but result in weight gain. Further, gluttony is the sin of "unnatural excess." This includes not only food, but drink, sex and others. So:
1. That skinny girl/dude that comes to the cookout, eats you out of house and home (and brings tupperware to take some home) is a glutton
2. That friend that has a new boyfriend every other day of the week and another paying her rent is a glutton (although we tend to call it something else, lol)
3. That dude that is "tore up" every weekend...and so forth...
When you put it out there like that, folks tend not to throw stones
