Ok folks,
Im sitting here, at my desk,,, bored to death,, just got paid(and its all gone) thinking "there has GOT to be more to life, than this"
Anybody else feel this way?
I mean, the economy has everybody's money messed up, you cant really afford to do things you like to do, and it seems like you just in a "drawing breath" stage. NOTHING is really exciting anymore, and there is nothing in the immediate future to look forward to.
Anybody else feel like this? Anybody else thinking they need a CHANGE---or is it just me?

youre right Krazy,, but still.
Im grateful to have a job, cuz millions of people dont. But that still doesnt get me out of this rut. I guess its because I still have a job, but my pay was cut 50%---soI feel like Im still doing ALL the work, but for HALF the pay.
This too, shall pass,,,, and I will be glad when it does.

As down and negative as I can be, there's still a little part of me that believes that there is light @ the end of the tunnel. (it's the way of a Sagittaurius).
We didn't get raises - I was counting on that lil 3%. Promotions are frozen (I'd have been up for that this year too). Double whammy. Oh, hiring freeze - plenty of new clients, but not enough workers - and we're not really allowed OT - so you're trying to be Super dayum man or Wonder friging Woman in 8hrs or work for free (and Brandy does not volunteer to money making corporations!!!)
It does get a chic down - not saying it doesn't. But honestly - it's the Serenity Prayer. I can't change jack right now.. I can mope about it, get p!$$ed, but is it gonna change? Hell no!
Doesn't mean I don't know how you feel. I've got 2 Masters degrees - my salary is a bachelors (if that) - but that salary pays my mortgage and bills. I don't have Coach, Gucci, Manolos, Jimmy, etc in my closet - not even Nine West. But I have my own crib. My car is almost 9 years old, but damn if that heifer don't run! The 1st cut is groceries - that's jacked up, but I'm not starving (obviously, or I wouldn't be on a board boo-hooing that I need surgery). I can't travel like I want, go out when I want, go to the movies, out to eat... it's hard - I got paid Friday and I'm about broke!
But I will admit, that 50% is a hard pill to swallow!!!

Goodness gracious--Im going back to school(and dont know if THATS going to do any good) to get my Master's---but hell its more of THEM outta work, than people that dont have a hi skool diploma!!! But at least that will give me a sense of purpose.

Easter dress??? WTF, lol!!! what's that?? Actually only had one b/c I had a lil left from income tax and paying bills - wanted this dress for months - extra $70+tax & shipping just wasn't in the budget. Coupon comes= yipee!!! And I was feeling too bad to even go to church...

Every year,, and I mean EVERY YEAR, I take my wife AND my daughter, Easter dress shopping. And its become a tradition, and they LOVE it. Mind you, I dont give a DAMN about sitting in a mall all day, Saturday. But THEY like it,,, so I do it. Hell I feel like thats the least I can do for them dealing with my grumpy ass.

But you know what? It gives a sense of accomplishment. For me, it was atonement for majoring in Partyology and minoring in school during undergrad. I didn't finish w/ honors, but dayum, I've got 3 degrees - damn the GPA, etc - I've got them!!!

I know exactly how you feel. Everyone says "be happy you have a job"...and I am.....but, as I sit here working OT (as usual) I feel as if I'm working all these hours and STILL can't catch up, not to mention get ahead!
It really is frustrating...even though we are grateful for what we do have.
