Question for those that exercise
Okay I take in 8-900 calories a day most days. Then I go and workout and burn 6-700, which leaves me net calories of 2-300. Is this too little. I'm still struggling to lose the weight and I know some have said to eat more, but how much more. How many net calories should I be taking in a day to keep my body from being in starvation mode. It almost makes me want to stop working out to see what happens, but I'm too afraid to do that. I'm also afraid to take in too many calories.
Recently (the past few days) I've been eating things by Ka****o see how my body responds to those carbs, but I'm not sure if I should be doing that either. I read where people eat whole wheat bread and wonder if I should try it, but I don't because I'm afraid.
If you have any answers for me I would appreciate it. I'm still just troubleshooting trying to figure out how to get my weight going. For those of you *****ad my blog I refuse to let what the surgeon said be true. Please help.
What exercises are you doing in the gym? Are you drinking protein shakes or what's your source of protein? What's your average daily diet look like?
I know when I got hard and heavy in the gym, I had to increase my calories a bit to compensate - by 200-300.

T TH Treadmill for 30 mins then water aerobics.
I know some people think the water aerobics thing is easy, but they really kick our butt and then I work my butt off extra hard when doing them. I'm always exhausted when finished.
As far as my diet goes. Egg beaters and turkey bacon in the morning. some type of lean cuisine or frozen dinner for lunch. Dinner is usually chicken or fish with some type of veggie.
Thanks for your help.
Try adding another small meal on the days you workout - like another protein shake - just on the weight training days tho nothing on your cardio only days.

Peanut butter on saltine crackers (3 or 4 will do)
Chicken salad on toast
sliced steak with a veggie
things like that. you can do it before or after the gym - I would do after because I am always hungry when I finish in the gym.

why? because your body can only process one meal at a time - if you graze or eat repeatedly the extra food gets used for fat storage - and you stall or pick up weight.
Try keeping your carbs to less than 30g a sitting - no more than 50g a day and do at least 60-70g of protein a day. 80 - 100 if you can get it.
