Well as stated in a previous post.....my laptop died. Being without my computer is definitely an eye opener. The convenience of on-line bill payment is hampered, communicating with some folks is limited, getting my news updates inconsistent etc...etc...It just made me wonder how in the heck would we all function without our gadgets and gizmos. So just for fun and perhaps to take a trip down memory lane. Out of the list below...tell me three things you would keep if you had to live without all the rest. Why would you choose these items? How could you live without (at least 3) of the rest? What would be the replacement or alternative actions for the items you must get rid of? Now don't forget...once upon a time...some of us did LIVE without these things...."the good ole days". Hey...who know...you just might think of a way to save some money by completing this exercise.
Technologies:

For me I would need:
1.) An Automobile because I love to travel esp as a family...I don't like feeling stuck. When I was much heavier I would often joke about how I loved my car because I could sit down and go places...LOL!..dayum...thats even funnier now when I think about it...walking for more than a mile was not even on my mind...I would get my walking in now of course.
2.) My cell phone....I like it for safety measures more than anything else. If I have car trouble I can call AAA, If I am running late I could let someone know. I remember back in the day...having to pull over to a pay phone praying that I even had change to make the call. I also remember blowing out my engine on my dodge pinto out of the middle of the back woods, corn fields & KKK stomping grounds in Arkansas....talking about being scared shiottless... It was only by the grace of God that my Regional Director drove down that road and saw me broke down....still thanking God for that one.
3.) Clothes washer....I could not even fathom the idea of washing clothes on one of those wash boards. I mean come on now....and mess up my fresh manicure or nails....LOL!
I could live without:
1.) Landmine phone....actually thinking about giving it up any way. We all have cells...and rarely use, get calls or answer the thing. It already seems like a waste of money. Only benefit is your location is easily traceable by police in event of emergency.
2.) Calculator....I can perform all of the essential math functions. As long as I know how to count how much change someone owes me back...I figure I am all good. LOL!
3.) Clothes dryer....now I actually love the smell of clothes hung on the clothesline...figuring out what to do in the winter months would be my only dilemma. Plus my fondest memory of my grandma happened by the clothes line. We lived in the projects. My grandma was talking to our neighbor who just happened to owe me money for babysitting. Well the neighbor smarted off to my grandma....next thing I know...my grandma had a pair of my uncles drawers wrapped around the woman's neck...needless to say she paid me my money. LOL! I know it ghetto...but all I know it was funny as heck and my grandma stood up for me! I sure do miss her.
