Did weight loss cause you to get a hemorroid.

Here'ssss the story, (I'll try to get to the point quickly)

With the band, I developed a hemorroid once I lost 40lbs. That thang was treacherous causing agony beyond belief.

After taking all that I "thought" that I could take I trekked off to a Dr. (Dr. Tootla of all names) who specializes in these issues. After the embarrassing examination, Dr. Tootla suddenly flipped up the table leaving my ass 2 inches from the ceiling exposed. Next, he announced that the hemorroid was inflammed and needed immediate removal. I allowed him to snip the thang expecting relief. After he did it, he sent me off with a script for some cream and said go get it right away and go right home.

Wellll I figured that the numbness would not wear off for a few hours, so after getting my script, I dropped off a friend, went to the store, and then headed home. About a block away the numbness wore off and GD GAWD! Let's just say that once I got home, one of my neighbors literally had to CARRY me up to my apartment because I couldn't walk. I suffered for a good 6 hours before that cream kicked in. After the brutal healing process I had never been plagued again with the problem until NW. Now that I am down 47lbs, I have yet ANOTHER hemorroid in the exact same spot. (pray my stremph).

So am I the only one here? I am truly believing that the weight loss may be playing a part.

they should call hemorroids asteroids.

but then the doctors would have to be called astronauts instead of proctologists.

. Howdy,
so I take it that you've suffered from a hemorroid at some point or another.

Sorry I laughed babe...but you know u have a way of telling stories...lol

I got hemorroids after delivery of my first child then one turned to a fisor (sp) talk about pain!! OMG not cute...not cute

I had it removed but it wasn't like you did....I actually had to go under for my removal..so I don't get that whole snip it and keep it moving process, nor them being WL related

I know that didn't answer your question LOL but I thought I'd share anyway

Gurrrrl if you only KNEW how many times that folks laughed about that one, ESPECIALLY those who had the same procedure. That was some kind of pain.

Years ago, when I had the stomach stapling surgery, after I had lost nearly all my weight I got one of those.  Until you wrote this post I had purposely put it out of my mind.  Been there, done that don't want to do it again.  It might have something to do with weight loss,  I remember that surgeon telling me it was fairly common.  I hope it doesn't though.
