XPOST: Fatigue any suggestions even if it is to rest......

I have walked about a mile everyday since I came home.  I walked in the hospital and I am eating about 80g of protein and keeping carbs low.  I didn't do much yesterday and the only effort I am making is to do that walk.  But this morning I woke up exhausted.  Am I doing too much?  Is this fatigue normal and is there anyway perhaps I can add to what I am eating to help?  I am now sticking with the basics for me.  I have no eaten anything that I have not listed for the past 5 days or so:

Oatmeal with protein added
Raisins and peanuts
Fish
Water

no alcohol no coffee no sugary goodness just the things listed above oh I did have cheese too

Thanks
~Maxine

Yeah, I did that already and he said you can walk just don't over do it and he seemed to think a mile was fine as long as I wasn't getting my heart rate up.  But, thanks!

Thanks Candace,

Makes sense but, I swear I like to do more than I should so on the couch is where I have been most of this day.  I plan to stay put until morning when I am scheduled to go to follow up appointment.

After my PS, I was completely depleted of energy most days (especially if I had taken one of the prescribed pain pills).... Consider you've just had major surgery and the intrusion in your body can and will off-set normalcy for you for a while.... it may be helpful to not fight your body's desire for rest.... especially since this is the first morning you woke up exhausted.... all the best... your diet looks awesome... you may need a few more carbs.... all the best... -S

Thank you,  I am into afternoon now and did rest a bit.  I think you are right though I know some carbs are good so for dinner I am having fish but I will have white rice with it so my body can be ready for tomorrow.  Thanks for your response.

I think you may need to lay it down for a couple days.  Walking is good and all - but you just did some MAJOR work on your body.  Nothing is going to go to hell in a handbasket if you rest up for a couple days.

*I* will be in bed, or in a recliner actually, chilling for the first week post surgery - nothing but naps and reruns and movies for me!

Hope you start feeling better soon!

I was wondering if the 80grams is in one sitting or in a day?

Hi RoRo,

This is over the course of the day two servings of flavorless protein 25g each in my oatmeal Then 150g Boneless tilapia for an early dinner and then some more late in the evening each serving about 150g.  I am guessing on the protein but I am rounding down so I think I am correct.  Do you think it is not enough?
