Travel Agents and those who know about Bookings!

Any Travel AGents around? I have a question...Do you get better rates doing it by yourself like by using Priceline etc. or do you all have a MAGIC button that you can get even better deals? We booked a cruise going to Mexico and the final balance is due next week and Now we are 2nd guessing so Our deposit is refundable so we want to explore our options before the 5th.

I always try both travel agent and online prices,  whichever gives me the best deal is the one I go with.   I'll also try directly with the place I want to go with.    You need to do some surfing and some calling around.

TY Lee.. long time no chit chat how are you? My travel Agent is no longer in business since her husband died so I need to search for one. Well I did the surfing today and compared rates at all the places(online sites) so I just need to call the resort and find an agent.
I know you are a travel buff let me get your opinion, we are torn between Grand Cayman Islands 7 mile beach, Frenchmans Reef St. Thomas and Grand Palladium Jamaica(all-inclusive+air)...Price is the 2nd factor here but with the 1st to we wont have all-inclusive and the Jamaic is like 400.00 more and is all inclusive and the trip is 8 days 7 nights. We have been to St. Thomas before and never the other two. What ya think?

All inclusive + air is always good but I always want to go places I haven't been before, but if I really like a place I will go again.  

I have a rule when traveling,  never let money stop you from doing something.   So if you have the extra money go for the Jamaica.

My Mom just said the same thing, she was like you don't penny pinch when you are traveling so dont make that a factor and 2 min later I get this post...lol...I think Jamaica is the answer. My Mom and I go away once a year and I wanted to plan a long rememberable trip before my surgery not being Morbid but you know I wont speak into excistance my damn fear eating away at me agian.. GOD IS GOOD!!!! Ok, I just wanted something different this year we always do crusies or go someplace where we have family so this time it is just about FUN. Thanks Lee...

Hubby and I are going to Jamaica in May.  We are staying at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Hotel.  It's all inclusive and rather reasonable.  I always go to trip advisor to get prior guest comments and pics.  I don't trust the hotel professional photos.  I wasn't sure when you were planning on going, but I will let you know what I think about the resort when we return.  Oh, and I booked through US Airways Vacation..through their website on our own (no travel agent).

Yeah I do that to Inspire,  I always look for unbiased feedback and opinions of a place and hotels.   You know those hotel pics are lies  LOL.   So You should always look for unbiased feedback.
